Laura found herself in a tight spot, or actually, class.

She was in the "Light Sword Advanced teaching" class. Something she signed herself up for, to help guide her combat. They encourage the use of strong combo's, and that was why, the class mostly existed, of elves.

The moments she stepped into the class, she felt strangely at ease. It felt like...home.

She smiled, and went to sit at a open spot at the back.

She knew, that probably none of her friends would be in this class..

    It's a sacrifice..,she thought.

Rick tried to avoid falling asleep in his class. Sure, it wasn't something the army trained in due to favoring a shield in formation, so he didn't have enough prior experience to try and test out of it... but still, all the other students were so unskilled... kids, with very little experience or background in any form of combat.

He hoped not all basic-level courses would be so... dull.

He ran into the others, and said hi to them, and then went off to his advanced pyromancy class...

They had enrolled him in it, with the mentality that his methods of using his light-magics resembled the way in which pyromancer intructors used theirs, so they had enrolled him in this class...

The Senior Student in that class just so happened to be substituting for a wounded professor, and this particular student happened to be his most hated enemy...

Memories of his worst moments clouded his mind, and he knew the pyromancer recognized him...

He immediately summoned a much crueler version of his usual black sword...

Everyone was instructed to leave the room just before the two collided with each other...

((Holey, I need you to NPC this guy...))

Thantissa walked down the hallway to her last class before lunch. Even though what she told Rick and Laura was true in that she couldn't do true hydromancy, there was one class that she could take in that vein. She looked at the sign on the door. "Intermediate Ice Skills for Hydromancy and Others." She opened the door, and felt a bit more...normal.

The Hydromancy Professor looked up from the role book as she walked in. "Welcome, Thantissa! Take a seat, and we'll begin in another minute or two."

She kept a small smile on her face as a cool breeze whipped by her. Due to the subject, the room was normally kept a bit cooler, and the people in the class dropped the temperatures a bit more, due to their ice magics, of all kinds. She found her seat right in the back corner, and settled in.

Finally, the boring class on "hold this end of the sword in your left hand" came to a close. Still, Rick had to admit that it was a new fighting style for him. Perhaps later on in the course they'd include some useful skills.

Having a short lunch break, he decided to head over to the cafeteria. He suspected everyone else would already be close to finishing their own food, so he may end up eating alone. As he reached the cafeteria, he scanned the room for any familiar faces.

Thantissa really had to work hard to keep the smile from her face. For all the flippancy Professor Flippar showed during the welcome 'party', she had to admit he was entitled to it. The time flew by as she watched and took notes with real avidness. As the class wound down, he looked up. "Now, for your assignment for tomorrow, I'd like to see a demonstration of your skills. This demonstration will be a test of your control, skill, and your imagination. It has to be your own power, your own design, and the more you can put into your unique 'ice arte', the better. I look forward to seeing what you can create. Class dismissed!"

Thantissa walked into the cafeteria still thinking of what she could create. No one had ever asked her to even try anything like this, and she could admit to being curious. She grabbed her food, and just out of habit, looked to see where she could sit.

As he entered the cafeteria, Rick noted Thantissa looking for a seat. Walking over, he said, "Hey. Thought you'd be at least half finished by now. I'll be back once I get my own food... that is, if you still don't hate me."

He went off to see what was available, making himself a plate before returning to the table. "So, how were your morning classes?"

"Probably not as interesting as yours, but they weren't ALL horrible on my end." Thantissa took a careful bite of something that looked like a child's art project.
"How did your morning go?," she asked, both out of interest and to help push back the growing sense of panic. Her Scythe class was next after lunch.

"Well," he said, sitting down. "I got to see Ardenian get beat up. That's always fun. Aside from that... eh, typical first day stuff. You know how it goes."

He sighed. "Man, these days are gonna be long. I don't know how many classes you have after lunch, but I'm in class all the way until dinner. And maybe after. But at least I'll improve fast, right?"

A very large explosion was heard throughout the Academy, as he and the older student started fighting...

Right when Ardenian had gotten away from his troubles, he had arrived at the very source of his worst memories, and of his parents' death...

If this man had come here to get away from the memory of his murder, and the extreme torture of some little abomination turned child, he found it again...

Ardenian saw this man every night in his worst nightmares, and he didn't need a second glance to end it as soon as possible...

The explosion was the shut and barricaded door being blasted into tiny pieces as a certain student, who was holding back an element of nature, came flying through it...

    ================================================== =============

More explosions were heard in the hallways as the pyromancer and Ardenian amplified their attacks.

Ardenian wasn't going to hold anything back to see to this man's demise, and he was constantly draining energy out of the light around him to make epic enerygy attacks at his opponent, who blocked them with increasing effort.

It shortly became obvious throughout the Academy that there was a million-dollar fight going on, not the ordinary students testing their teachers before class...this was an epic fight, and this obviously was going to be a rare sight...

The one thing Ardenian wanted during this fight was to use his magic, and not his sword on him. He was far better with destroying a man through his Powers of Magic but not through the Sword...

Besides, he wanted to send a message of power and rage to his enemy...

Ardenian was thinking of nothing, nor doing anything other than doing his best to devastate this enemy that had damaged him so much...

He was a force of nature. He was like a tornado or hurricane that have no emotions but the destruction which they cause. He had perfect balance within himself, but that balance was only centered on destruction. He was the eye of the storm he had set off in the halls. Darkness was his shroud and the light was his weapon...
