i dont remember where i answered this question before, maybe it was in guild chat in wow. the calender doesnt end, it starts over.

but my personal opinion is that the nerds who were writing it got called into dinner by their wives. this is how i see it going down in my head;

"guys! dinner!"
"just a min hun we're calculating the time span of the world"
"you get your self in here right now or your sleeping out there with your damned stars!"
"yes dear" mutters to self "i hope ppl dont think the world will end just because i stopped here"
"i heard that! dont be ridiculous, no one will think that. and even if they do YOU wont be around to deal with it"
