Default Age 2: Fact from Fiction

As someone who tested out the beta version... and hated it (sorry Evony but those graphics are horrendous)... I still find myself toying with the idea of trying the live version, though I've been hearing a bunch of different things that I would like clarified.

    1. Is it true that there's no attack option? Kinda odd in a war game...

    2. Is it true that NPCs will attack your cities?

    3. Is it true that it takes longer to build troops, but less food to feed them?

    4. What is a "historical" city?

Feel free to add or answer questions as they come along.

1.) I believe you have to declare war and wait eight hours before launching an attack but thats what ive heard I haven't actually tried but am in the process of testing it.

2.) Dont count on it, that would never be used I believe.

3.) Troop times have changed slightly as have troop mechanics, but feeding then takes about 50% less, except for catapults which are now 1250...each...an hour.

4.) Historical cities are NPCs just of higher levels that I believe go to 18.

Wow. So you can only attack people you're at war with?

Why did they make the upkeep for cats so much higher?

Have you played the live version yet?

Im on na1 which is one of the live servers, I suppose its to keep the number of cats down, and you can declare against individual players but I think this system is stupid, it just gives them warning about what's going to happen.

Lol.. so you can declare on individuals and alliances? Wow. That is kinda dumb.

What's stopping someone from declaring on me and then me joining an alliance, thus nullifying that declaration? Wouldn't that mean they'd then have to declare on the entire alliance before having to attack me?

I believe so but I hardly touched beta so I have yet to test it.

You mean they might actually get to actively defend their city? OMG, END OF THE WORLD!

You claim it's stupid now, but when you end up on the receiving end while sleeping or at work, I'll bet you'll be happy it's there.
But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

    Default Yes, individuals declareing war...

Yes they can. By the time i finally got into beta, it was too late, too many established alliances and people. I was trying to learn the game and build. I was colonized over and over (but let go several times, told them I would find them in ageI and kill them, lol). But the constant crap hindered me from getting a complete grasp of the game play rules. And I read a lot on here. It was just an amazing hassle. There was no way to really learn and play...
