Lvl 10 Compass

I have just heard in my alliance chat that it is a complete no no to go lvl 10 compass. Is there any truth in it?? Ill need to know before mine is completed as i already have it underway. Can anybody point me towards a thread or give me any assistance?

This whole thing is kind of difficult to explain the short version is this-
Compass 10 mostly affects farming lvl 10 NPCs. The problem is if you have compass 10 your troops move in to range of the Archer Towers and in to the warriors too quickly. There isnt really 1 great guide for this but check out The Ultimate Guide stickied at the top of the guide forum or any of the guides in here http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=74661 the guide library.

when you hero passes 200 attack, then its ok to upgrade to compass 10

On my first hit on an NPC 10 with a 230 attack hero after getting compass 10, I lost less than 5k archers.

what combo do you use?
with 230 atk hero i would get around 6k-ish archer loss with compass 10

I've been using 2k workers, 2k warriors, 4k scouts, 90k archers, 2k transporters.

Against an NPC hero thats less then level 10, I never get more then 5500 archer losses and I don't lose all the scouts either.

With Compass 10, my losses more than doubled from 9k arch to 18-20k arch.

I tried this mix you suggest except I used 3k scouts, and I lost 22k arch on top of all rainbow troops.

Compass 10 has been a debacle that is costing me an additional 10k archers on every NPC10 hit. I want to find a solution because 25k losses with the rainbow on every npc10 hit is too too much.

My hero is 202. Arch 10/HBR 9/MT 10

Could HBR9 be the problem with Compass10?

in my honest opinion there is no difference with lvl 9 or 10 compass maybe 500 archers when hitting a lvl 10 npc. you just need to use the right mix, i would tell you the mix to use but that would spoil the fun lol. i can use a hero 150 att and above to hit a lvl 10 npc with nxt to normal losses just try different mixes

Compass 9 is "easier" for low level heroes on 10s. I start farming my B10 heroes at around 145-150 with compass 10, so it's not that difficult. Compass 10 significantly reduces losses at a certain point though.
