Great analysis and summary, TheRealMcCoy... Rep +1. This is exactly what I wanted, and what all should consider.

Much like hero levels this has been viciously nerfed. So extreme is the nerfing on it that the difference between a 100 hero and 300 hero is only 32% as far as troop building goes. It was 172% in Age 1. The advantages of having a high level hero are so minimal it almost is not worth having one in Age 2.
I truly hate this change. The build times and research times I'm seeing are astronomical, despite having 150+ poli and 150+ intel heroes. Compass level 9... about 102 hours. I haven't gotten round to privateering yet but I'd hate to see how long level 10 takes. I'm guessing 250-300 hours. Everything seems and feels longer than Age I. Slower progression. Exactly the REVERSE of what the doctor ordered. The speed of beta had everyone salivating, and much happier. Now, its torturously slow.

The stars system for upgrading armor was not taken into account here, just the base benefit from the armor. Still, I miss the beta method of adding the appropriate level gems to each level of each piece of armor, just because lower level armor should need to be given some attention for upgrades, not just aim for level 10 and then upgrade the armor(since the loss of star points means you never want to upgrade lower level armor pieces).

And along those same lines, can my politics heroes across all my towns all use the armor at the same time?

    Thanks!
Once you have researched your armor you can apply it to all your hero. You can even have an attack hero with attack armor. Or make it a Political Hero by removing the attack armor and equiping it with Political armor. Typically you assign armor every 10 levels of the hero. You have to manually equip each hero with the armor however it is not automatically applied

Can you please tell me what server you are playing on????
I have played on several different servers and never have I seen a player that had a definate advantage over "everyone else" I mean the term "everyone" implies that there is one guy/gal dominating the entire server.. I must be playing a totally different game then you because the servers I am on have a few folks at the top that everyone sorta fears.. and then a few folks everyone respects... and then a few folks everyone farms..

By your standards we should just give every country on Earth the same resources to build armies of equal size.. then we can all play hopscotch and blow on dandelions cause we're all equal and it's all good..

No thanks.. Some people (notice I said PEOPLE) develope "advantages" because they work for it.. is this a strategy game or a social networking game.. I'm confused

Did I say anything about everyone having the same amount of resources?

    No

Did I say anything about everyone having the same size army?

    No

Did I say anything about hero levels?

    Yes
But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

Apparently you haven't had a high level hero in Age1.

What's the problem? The problem is that heros are now 5 times less effective. You sound like a Blizz dev validating a WoW class nerf in the name balancing . . . when in fact it's only purpose is to dumb the game down for a wider market.

    Yes
no but you did say there is "no problem" with everyone training troops at the same speed .. well gee why don't we just make it to where we all research at the same speed.. constuct at the same speed.. and gain resources at the same speed... after all there should be "no problem" with that right?? then we can change the name of the game from evony to commy (short for communist) because we'll all be the same... (except for the glitch finders).. They'll be the ones that develope a "permanent advantage" over other players.. and genuine players will be paralized by the "same" factor to do anything about it...

LMAO @ Commys +1 for making me laugh but it is so true! But lets remember where Evony comes from so you may have offended someone from Dev now!

Exactly. And Ashanta, if your read this. With the new formulas bought in for Age 2 (they werent there in beta BTW, just on prod) you need something like 1600 attack to build instant warriors instead of 432 now. I offered up an alternate formula which would keep the Age 1 feel and never allow any instant troop build. Took around 20 minutes to come up with the formula so not much thought has gone into how they tweaked this formula but retaining some of the qualities from Age 1 that made it so great

I totally agree but somehow I think all this is falling on deaf ears.. This is why I voted B on Dawnseekers request for feedback.. No way am I giving up AGE I until AGE II gets fixed. And to be honest I dont feel it will ever be fixed the way we would like.
