Sure they would. When you "lose" a city in Age 1 it stings a bit but you get over it. With colonization in Age II that "sting" is renewed every single time you get taxed/drafted. I don't care how "well developed" a city was I'd NPC ANY city before I got it thrown up in my face daily. Any player worth his salt with a decent alliance could successfully uprise and regain his independence but the new players will suffer the most and get demoralized and quit.

And as a result...the only cities you can colonize are the little throw away cities not being played by active players.

Once again, we are back to what's the point of attack anything but NPC's? This system does everything possible to discourage PvP play.

To even have a shot at a player, you have to wait for war to set in for 30 mins...then the time for the troops get their an 'take the city' (something you get no resources for) and then 8 HOURS for the city to become a colony. All that so you can get 10 percent of their resources. Show me one decent player in a decent alliance that couldn't get something together in 9+ hours to save the city...

SO...I can spend 9 or so hours waiting for 10 percent of a noob's cities resources or I can just hit one lvl 5 NPC and get what I'd get from a month of having that city as a colony.

Do you still have to be a baronet to even colonize someone's city?
But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

Not sure about that. I saw all I needed to about Age II the month or so I played on the beta and from the posts on the forums it doesn't seem to have changed all that much.

how different is it from making a 1-2 hour march and have a player npc there city 10 seconds before you hit it, making you waist all that time. Or spending time to bust a city down to zero loyalty, and have the player log in and npc it at the last second.

your complaining about perfectly normal game play.

Besides..when colonizing a city you never actually "take" it as you stated. you only colonize it.

when your opponent has to dump (npc) there city its a win for you. You beat them...move on to the next.

Having massive prestige generally means you are a great farmer with lots of troops but doesn't mean they know how to use them.

In age 1 a member of the alliance i am in Npc'd 7 lvl 10's she had converted rather than spend the time to defend them. And i could totally Picture some people Npc'ing a city just to not share 10% of anything even a stone city.

Yes...but in Age I you got their resources after a successful attack...in Age II they get to keep them. So you invest all the troops and get none of the rewards.

Which is exactly why I won't play Age II. troop times are nerfed to beginner levels so it (IMO) isn't worth the time nor effort of troop making or resources to colonize someone for a meager 10% of their resources.

    Awesome!
First of all I would like to say what a direct & most honest post you have made.
    It is insightful & raw....
If you have allot to lose it makes what you have or have taken the much sweeter.

Alot of players on Age 2 say "on here some bully can't take your city", I say in return " & your point is???"
Age 2 is nothing but a bunch of Castle-Hugger's.
And Face-book buddies. People who sucked at Age 1 & or thought it was to mean.

They should call Age 2, The new farm-ville without the farming!!!!!

I wouldn't necessarily say that. I played the first EVONY and now i'm checking out age 2. I didn't play age 1 for that long but now that i'm playing age 2 i'm really getting into it. I don't particularly like the facebook idea. I made the mistake of playing through facebook. I'm not a big fan of a pop up slamming in your face every 30 seconds. That gets pretty annoying. But other than that I wouldn't rag on it too hard. But that's just my opinion. I can understand hardcore EVONY players not liking age 2.

I guess since were talking about the differences I just want to ask...Why does everyone that starts an account on age 2 think that they have to start an alliance as soon as possible and get people to join. I see a hundred different alliances recruiting every time I log on. What's up with that?
You must be the change you seek in the world
