As for Greek and Feudal Europe, I don't know as much as I should. I've really neglected a lot of my History, Rome I'm decently knowledged in. Conrad would pwn everyone on this forum combined in history of that time. lol

I usually do it without thinking about it. Although expanding on idea's is technically the point, not really sure why it would bother people. Even if it's worded arrogantly. People have such weak skin. :P

    Heil Stalin,
    Wait that's not right...

(About that picture, I can see the point but really neither would deserve the Nobel Peace prize for different reasons, Obama had done very little at that point to deserve it and Stalin killed to many people to deserve it. Maybe I'm just thinking in a narrow perspective here.)
Canada loves to do history lessons on WWII. Likely because of the parts we played in it, like our role in D-Day, and Vimy Ridge, and etc.
Didn't stop me from falling asleep, but I preffered to learn on my own anyways.

    Yes, yes they do.

    Lol.

(Obama really hasn't been able to do anything though. He's got the entire country dragging its heels through every move he tries to make. Plus, there weren't many other candidates. Sort of an A for effort, just don't drag us into another endless war with no exit strategy sort of thing. As for Stalin, I believe that's part of the joke, but I'm not sure. Still, the entire point was Stalin being win, as far as the thread goes.
My, the intellectual conversations I participate in, lol.)

Nah, I know how that learning on your own part is. But my WH teacher last year would always include more than just what the book said and give us other titles on what we read. Her choices were usually spot on and had the best detail. Which was really what I really wanted the most out of the lesson.

It's annoying at times when harmless comments are turned into insults. If I wanted to insult your intelligence you'd know damn well if I did.

(I'll agree to that, doesn't help that he came into office at one of the worst possible times with what has transpired recently. Half the country, mainly racists and deep southerners refuse to even accept him as president. As for other candidates, Mccain had a chance, I wouldn't exactly support him myself but when he selected Palin as his Vice that sealed the deal on his loss. Having her even near the white house would be horrible. He had so many other choices. Moving on to Stalin, while that could be the joke, it doesn't really make sense as Stalin's main attributes politically were that he actually did something for his country and killed millions of people, two traits Obama didn't have. Meaning the relevance in comparing them loses value as they both did completely different things. (lol, arguing over a poster, I can see what you mean) Stalin > Mudkipz > All others)

Stalin was a useless military leader until the arrival of Zhukov and his breed of modern generals. But let's gloss over that. Sure, he killed millions, and yeah, he was militarily vastly incompetent, but he modernized the USSR's industry and agriculture, and improved machinery across the Soviet Union. Come on, to be fair, the USSR is a huge place, so to do that is astonishing.

Now let's look at Tse-Tung. He killed millions? Check. Tactically incompetent? Nope. Did anything for his country? Hell no.

If anything, the only reason China is so successful today is because the leadership didn't do completely moronic things like The Great Leap Forward. Or, should I say, The Great Leap into Famine and Other Horrible Disasters. Sure, he had the Five-Year Plans, but to be fair, they only did what Stalin did earlier.

    Stalin > Tse-tung.

Plus, Stalin has that totally awesome moustache.

I never really had a history teacher like that. Its usually textbook this, or documentary that. I did have one teacher who would always be more then willing to debate with me, and would actually concede when I was right and he was wrong. He was pretty cool. Not very often I found a teacher who would accept being corrected, or simply out debated by a 16 year old.

Yea. But there is some harmless comments which do insult intelligence even if they don't intend to. Like whenever someone tells me to look something up, I tend to get upset. Particularly if its common knowledge.

(The Stalin joke only works if you want to look at it from the "Obama wants to make the US a Communist country" standpoint. And Glen Beck provides more then enough of those to have enough people scared into believing it. And with the American prejudice and ignorance against Communism, its no surprise things like this will turn up. (We aren't arguing over the poster, just discussing the intellectual merits of it. Which is lolable even in thought...) Stalin is greater then Mudkipz? He is ultra-win! Lol)

I'd love to contiue this now and shirk on some houshold things buts currently 4Am and work is in two hours for me. Plus my laptop charger up and died on me so this is comng from my iPod. Leaving typing this quite a hassle.

I'll be back later in the afternoon once work gets out to respond.

Btw, while that current debate may be laughable, imagine mudkipz vs Stalin.

Stalin was win before we mentioned the stache. Now he's 10 times the win.

We're not going to discuss the merits of mass-murderers. Thanks.
