The fact that he has a 99% of not dying is what concerns me, Paolini isn't going to go with the majority. Then again there's the prophecy of him leaving Alagaesia so he probably won't die unless the prophecy is not related to eragon and is just throwing us of the track. I honestly don't know, there are so many mini plot lines going on I can barely keep track of the mains ones, I am hoping Paolini can deliver the answers properly or else the book will feel unfinished.

    Yep

I'm hoping that the Varden beat Galbatorix, but as you said who knows.

I am putting my money on saying at least one prime character will die (AKA Roran, Nasuada, Orik, etc.etc.
    Don't even THINK about it.

As usual, I've got a few that I'm plugging away with, but one that I'd like to mention and recommend......

soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton. Some of you may remember hearing of her. She made news a few years ago when she was attacked by a shark while surfing. At the time she was 12 years old. She lost her left arm almost up to her shoulder, but then went back to surfing. She's now about 15 and a professional surfer. Anyways, it's a very interesting story of surviving and succeeding no matter how bad the deck is stacked against you.

There is also a movie out by the same name which I watched first and then went in search of the book. I highly recommend both.

Integrity doesn't need a rule book.
Rule #1 clearly states, "Don't confuse Newpy!"
