Pain is a sign that you are alive. Take that away, and you will feel lifeless.

I mean, come on. Lets say you jump into a concrete wall. You fracture your ribs, a couple of bones, and your head. Your internally bleeding, which is now fatal. You can't feel the pain, and so, you do not go to the doctors, and you die.

Not much of a good thing. Pain actually saves your life.
