You'd probably become incredibly, suicidally depressed. Because of your inability to end your own life but equal inability to deal with omnipresent pain, your higher brain functions would shut down and you'd go into a catatonic state for eternity.

How, exactly? Sure, you could throw yourself off cliffs and stuff, but that doesn't exactly translate into becoming global dictator instantly. Besides, you'd become corrupted and screw with the world forever, unstoppable by anyone.

What's wrong with screwing the world over?

How about you go find a dictionary or something, and look up 'morality'. It'll be quite enlightening, trust me.

    knowledge*

and the problem is that you're the one in that leadership position. You have no limits on what you do. By that time you'll be far past gone to care how far over the moral event horizon you went.

I would rather my soul be immortal than my body, because we can only truly love one person in this life, and when they go, our hearts get torn to pieces.

There is no way that I would want to spend eternity with a broken and scarred heart...
I guess I am not young enough to believe that love will last forever. You may remember some bitter-sweet memories of a long dead love but it will always come again, and again, and again if you live long enough.

Trapped in an Iron maiden for the rest of your life?

Being ripped apart at the limbs and surviving, forever being nothing more than a head?

    No thanks.
You wouldn't stay trapped forever. Iron will rust and rot away, especially if you were at the bottom of the ocean. However immortality without the ability to repair any damage could get rather messy and akward after awhile. Now if you were immortal in spirit form with the ability to take over someone else's body and just piggy back from one body to the next throughout eternity now that might be pretty cool.
Killing people never solves anything but it keeps them out of your hair while you think of an alternative.

Society is immoral. Actions made everyday by man are the true evils. If anything I would be saving the world from the pains of modern society.
