Does anyone else think that saving quest rewards for emergency use a good idea? For example: the 70k gold reward for 64k Prestige?

Depends how small you are.
It might be beneficial for the right individual in the right situation.

I found that early on, the quest rewards were the only thing keeping me building things... once that was no longer the case, they were too small to be of signifigance... though the gold perhaps is the exception.
I'd say if you can kep things building and researching without them, they're no harm in saving up.
I don't think they're worth saving. In the beginning the rewards were pretty good, but by the time you get to 64k prestige, every research should cost more than that. I know mine do, and I'm not quite there yet. Besides, I'm producing a total of over 20k gold/hour so 70k isn't really significant in one way or another.
But wouldnt it be smarter to use them now , this way you could get a boost , get more building , more income so you will be better prepared for a ..situation?
No thats just not smart..... get the quest rewards thats what they are for.... hopfully by the time that you "might need it" you should be powerful enough to not worry about it... even the 10's of thousands of gold..... sorry I dont agree....
No.
As mentioned before, the rate of growth is not linear but rather more logarithmic. Late in the game the rewards are insignificant, its better to use them immediately to negoiate (sp?) the early part of the curve the best you can.
