Thank you. It's amazing how people can come crashing down on someone who is trying to just help and be nice.

Particularly when they themselves are incorrect.

I think it's simply a case of using words that have a clear cut definition.

I agree with Godly on this one aswell as Micharjuna

It is their own fault if they close their browser, as long as your not foolish enough to do it yourself you should just smile at the thought of other people inadvertantly closing their browsers

Gameplay slowed to a mere trickle on my end as the chat went wild; I saw "cmd:admin(cents)5000" flying up and up, more than 100 times. That's "Noob".
What's worse, is that the same people kept doing it.
What's even worse, is that half the people who typed it didn't even type it properly.
That's brilliant. I totally endorse all these social engineering tricks that help to strip these idiots of their right to speak.

I was on last night, and I couldn't resist the temptation to perform an "experiment" of my own.

I typed "HEY!! Type '88888888' in chat and your resources will double!"

The results were AMAZING!!! (Please notice that there are eight 8's.)

37 people fell for it; 37 Speakers up in smoke!!!
    Of those 37:
    • 9 of them typed '88888888' (eight 8's)
    • The other 28 typed either more than or less than eight 8's.

I laughed my head off for a bit, then I felt some remorse for preying on the naive; I shed precisely 29 tears: 28 for those who can't count, and one because I wasted a Speaker.

Then I got over it and I laughed some more.

Yes, I'm an @$$. Yes, that was very mean and unsportsmanlike of me. Yes, I should be ashamed of myself.

I swear I'll never do it again.

    Definitely worth 0.30USD though.

I'm sorry, but I TOTALLY gotta agree with Micharjuna on this one (after I got through LMAO at his extremely accurate examples of "NOOB" questions. This game, like Travian or wow or runescape or civ series are better enjoyed in my opinion by people who can take cognitive advantage of the slight intricacies of play that this game incorporates.

I've been playing 3 days, and still consider myself a "NEWB", but this forum is doing an excellent job of fixing that as I am doing what it takes to excel. As a matter of fact, 'doing what it takes to excel' is the main requirement in life...(geez, that's deep).

But there are all kinds of people in this world. Although i can't help but wonder if the ones that are reading the forums and taking responsibility for their outcome in this game aren't the ones with decent jobs and productive lifestyles IRL, and the ones saying "gimme 4000 wud!" quite possibly could be the ones IRL saying "gimme welfare...gimme food stamps...so i can burden everyone else's tax load", when they don't really need them, they just need to 'do what it takes to excel'.

So it's my opinion that there are certain types of people better suited to this game and will excel here and it is basically their 'territory'. And a large part of those are probably the more intelligent bunch that weren't great at sports in high school or were considered nerds and got picked on a lot. So the nerds that can't do push ups are picked on when they go onto the atheletic field, and the people that can't compose literate sentences are picked on when they try to play a game that's more complicated than sticking your tongue to a freezing flagpole or seeing how many beer cans you can crush on your head in 2 minutes (although i must confess playing that one in college).

It's just the way the world works.

Hell, it's even annoying trying to look through the forums when there are so many people posting questions that are answered very early on in with the quest button. But i'm going back now, to try and filter through and find some more advanced topics to gain more knowledge of this game because I'm doing what it takes to excel.

(damn, i should start a seminar series)! LOL!

I have to agree.. I only joined yesterday, so am definitely a Newbie, based on the fact that I'm new to the game.
I ignored the chat yesterday as it was all mindless drivel, I don't think one person looked at the quests. It was all about what age they where, who could give them stuff for free and what were they meant to do... Oh and the spelling, I may just be getting old, but it was disgraceful..

I had the game figured out within the first couple of hours, it's really not rocket science.. I'm by no means an expert, but I know enough to get me by just now and as I progress through the game, it will surely teach me more by using the incredibly handy flashing quest icon, with the big green ticks to tell me what I have done...

I'm sick of little boys as well.... I should change my name to "Yes I'm female, I'm in a happy relationship, no I'm not interested.... feck off" Though I doubt if that would have any impact on them...

This morning I lost my patience with them, and have been intermittently calling them morons.. I saw someone posting something about cheats, and the amount of people who jumped to attention to ask where, was ridiculous.. I'm sorry if they are that stupid and lazy, then they deserve to have the pi$$ ripped right out of them... I'm all for helping out genuinely stuck people, but idiots are on their own...

Writing about cheats and Keystrokes (lack of better word) that close browsers for a quick chuckle is quite sad and of course very deceptive.

Shouldn't people be incouraging others to play. Not making a mockery of people who may very well be lazy or maybe the are just inexperienced in games and how to go about looking for information about gameplay.

Though I know its annoying - world chat seems more like the average chat room... but I offer a solution switch to private or alliance chat.
