Greetings,
Maybe I can clarify this thread a little. The original poster asked...
Fuaubu_al is implying that his/her attackers misused accounts to gain information which lead to the demise of his/her city. By having one account in Fuaubu_al's alliance, and at least one other in another alliance, the attackers were able to gain information about Fuaubu_al's city. This would be information they did not normally have.
However unfortunate your loss Fuaubu_al, it should be noted that it could not be proven that the said aggressors did infact miss-use multiple accounts. Although it is true that this could be proven by an examination of IP address and so on, to do so would be very resource demanding. Can you imagine if the Game Masters had to examine every such claim?
As long as there are people that play, there will be people that abuse the system. Take this as a learning experience and prepare yourself for your next city. This could be the best thing this player did for you, creating a more educated and cautious you.
It is not clear that there was a miss-use of multiple accounts. It would be one thing if the OP had concrete proof, however he/she does not. Above all else we have to consider the possibility of coincident. Attacks will happen, and I could be wrong, and I am sure this will not be a type of event that Game Masters will be allowed to investigate.
Although you can almost sense the frustration of the original poster, I do not think his/her only intent was to find blame in someone. It is clear they had concerns for the system being possibly abused by the said attackers. We cannot fault them for voicing their concerns.
This thread is clearly not about methods of spying, but about the miss-use of multiple accounts. And for the record although I do not know the original poster I can see how one might take offense at your "Have Fun" comment at the end of your post. Please try to be professional in your statements, as wishing someone fun who just had frustrating gaming experience is not professional. Granted you may have not intended ill will, but it would be better to air on the side of caution when dealing with an upset member of this community.
Again this goes back to the line of proof. No names were shared here, and there likely will not be a way to tack such aggressors on a large scale. I think the best thing for the community would be self education on how the game works and the best methods to protect against those that choose to bend the rules.
Very true. There are a number of alliances that have spies. Why not? It happens in real life, why should the game be different. We adapt, we learn and we eventually figure ways to know who to trust and who not to. False information can be a great tool for flushing out spies.
Defense is not irrelevant. One can defend with correct setup and appropriately leveled research. By creating the correct group of counter troops a player can repel any attack, and with the advent of the wall defenses, they actually have the upper hand. If you cannot get enough troops built, simply make vast Warehouses to protect your resources and make sure you keep your cities loyalty up.
But how does that help out the original poster? Do you have something constructive to add?
