The example that you are referring to (which I will not mention by name for fear of making this thread too political and getting it closed) was not founded on pure Marxist principles. Except that the government controlled what people could own it was pretty much a capitalist state in practice. The fact that it even HAD government shows it wasn't true Marxist. Which is the only reason it lasted as long as it did.
