Default Colonization - What is it?

I'd like to know what happens when you are colonized.

Its how the Carebears took over Evony.

    Darn them!!!!

But seriously, its a new feature in Age II that lets you siphon off 10% of the person who you've colonized's resources.

I barely play Age II and I haven't been colonized as of yet, but I think that there's something called uprising and it does something to effect your 'Suzerain'. What that is I have no clue.

Colonization means that when someone attacks you, instead of taking your city away from you and making it their own, they become your "overlord" and get a percentage of your resource production. They can also do some other things, like take a small portion of one troop type per day.

This may sound awful, but you never actually lose your city, and can continue building up your army so that you can "uprise" against your overlord and win back your freedom. In the meantime, if anyone else tries to attack you, your "suzerain's" troops have to help defend your city (or their interest in it, anyway) - so it actually keeps you relatively safe from further attacks.
