    I'm pretty sure that there is a Babylonian Tiamat, even if it isn't the original. And Kronos is in Greek Mythology as well I do believe.

    Most assuredly not. The Egyptian pantheon did not include Tiamat.

    They can be copyrighted, but only insofar as the capacity in which the company used them. Which is basically what you said, but just summing it up.
