Default What is the point of the game?

What is this game about? To test your "skill" in gaining Prestige, Honor, Ranking, "winning" as much cities as possible? Skill is NOT when you have raced against an inferior competitor, used unfair advantages, and then sit back and say "I have WON!" What is achieved when a group of three Alliances ranked in the top 10, top 30 and the "weakest" one in the top 60, having more than 200 members, "gang" up to attack a MUCH weaker Alliance, ranked in the top 250 with LESS than 5 members? Is this "achievement"? Are these players top notch players or are they simply a gang of organised bullies? Who goes to a boxing match with an assault rifle, hand grenades and a load of explosives, then beat the crap out of the completely overshadowed "defender" with his awkward, inferior "weapons" as in his boxing gloves?
And then, yes THEN the winner stands up and say "I have won!!" Ha ha he he now THAT is no achievement and NO prestige, honor or ranking should be gained from such attacks! That is a flaw in this game...strength should have to be matched with EQUAL strength...THEN winning is an achievement...
    What say you?

This game is about so making friends, and teamwork, prestige and honour, are meaningless numbers, if someone wants to say they win because they have more then let them have their fun.
It is unfortunate when smaller people get attacked like this but that's part of the game, you just have to keep trying.

TC yes you're right off course but it's a place where the developers could do some adjustments i think. When the playing fields are level it will be more fun and greater skills will certainly be needed. Enjoy!

I don't think this game was ever designed to be a win or lose game, but rather an endlessly developing game with some wins and losses in it. There will always be people with a greater advantage than you. Not just in this game, but in life as well. The measure of a great person though is not how well they utilize their advantages, but rather how well they overcome their disadvantages.

I"ve often thought that Evony could keep things more interesting by making this a round-based game. Let each round last 3 months (so 4 rounds per year), and make it a race to the top, with small prizes (game coins or something) for the top ten alliances and players in each category.

That way the older servers would never really die out from boredom, because every 3 months everyone on the server starts over as a beginner and has the challenge of building up and becoming a winner (top ten) all over again. It would also allow for those who got off to a slow start in their first attempt to improve their game with each round - and for friendships/established alliances to remain intact instead of losing people to new servers when they get bored.
