I disagree... not all curses are directed a people, or wish them harm. Cursing has become bigger than that... we do it when in pain, when we hate someone, when we joke around, and when we describe something. Curses have developed alternate meanings too. We find more and more uses for them as they become more natural.

My parents never minded me cursing, and occasionally a curse would slip out even at age 10 They only one they really minded was F**k... which I never let slip.
