Yeah I like evocalc since it lets you add in the walls. Probably not entirely accurate, but if it is:

1000 attacking cavalry would be killed by 3k archers and 1 abatis; they have to stop for a round to kill the abatis, which slows them down enough that they all die before reaching the archers.

So if that was correct, as long as I can keep building 1 abatis between waves, I could wipe out any number of 1k cav attacks with no troop loss.

That would be swell, if it's correct Thank you for the suggestion. I wish I could convince my enemies to send exactly the right attacks with the right timing to test it out, lol.

Evocalc also says 3k archers plus 300 rams would do it no losses, even without abatis. Cav hit the rams first, but can't kill any before they die? That would be even better.

Although.. that's when you put in 6 archery. Change it to 10, and with 3k arch + 300 rams (no abatis) and you DO get archer losses. Totally don't understand that. Higher archery means archers shoot farther.. why would that cause MORE losses, if with less range they had none? So strange. EDIT: Actually the site is minorly broken if you keep changing values and re-submitting, have to refresh the page or it gets messed up. But it's still showing strange results, e.g. getting less losses with archery 6 than with archery 10, everything else being the same - that can't be right?
