I've never understood the difference between a "compact" defense and another defense. What is it and what are all the defense types, and which is considered the best? And coming off that, how do make that defense?

compact means no 5k defenders on ur wall..so u would only build ats and rolling logs. also need to have more swords or pikes than archers and some fodder. it's defense in a compact space rather than the larger range

both have ups and downs..the compact d is awesome against archer waves but can be whittled down by cav waves..also makes bombs useless. Personally i prefer the compact d...i have a ton of swords soit takes them longer to whittle em down and pepole have less horsies than they should lots of times...plus u leave a few empty spaces in ur wall and if ur online u can just build a few abatis and mess up their whole attack lol.

thanks. right now I have some traps and abatis so I'll just go with that defense until somebody attacks me. I also have 5 times more archers than swordsmen.
