Default Colonizing: not a big hit for some.

There appears to be a few major issues w/colonizing. Many players simply quit the game, once colonized.

Uprising rarely works when you can set the colony army to fight in favor of the Suz. What Suz in their right mind would ever set the suppression army percentage lower than 100% ?

I have several colonies, they throw everything at me as the Suz, strategems, uprisings, commission quests and have yet to break free. Yes there are ways to break free, but most won't stick around long enough to get there. They just figure GAME OVER. Without a more bite in the uprising feature, or limitation on the suppression army settings, newer players are just being lost right out of beginner, and not experiencing the much of the game.

Evony, consider too the $$ lost on this venture from players leaving.

Not true, infact, it can be extremely risky for suz's. You can get taken down by that one victim with a player as good as you who wants to colonize you. The way is, if you have set your percentage to 100 % when a predator player wants to colonize you, he can choose to aim for one of your colonies, and attack them. This will mean that they will be attacking you aswell as your colony. So, if you have your supression settings set to 100% then they can wipe out your troops. and if they're smart enough, they will then time it so that they can attack your city right after the attack of your colony. this means that they can send a fake fighting force to attack your colony, and then drag your troops right to the colony, and then time it so that when your troops reach your colony, the other predator-player's troops will reach your city in time to colonize it. then your troops will be recalled. and by that time, that player would have taken your city with ease. and also, they can scout your colonies without you even knowing. same with war declaration of your colony. you will be completely oblivious and have to act fast. In confusion and lack of time, you would be vulnerable.

Being a suzerain is a pain in the azz unless u know what ur doing. U can't attack them anymore unless they uprise, ur troops go out to defend them if they g shed and **** somebody else off. They can close their gates and have ur troops fight fir them without their army raising a finger.
They can liv and build off farming and turn down res prod to zero to cut off their tributes to you. … too many to list :P

    Default Yep

There is no further reward to the game when a nooby get's colonized they day they get out of bp. BP should last at least 60 days, OR until the player feels they are ready by declaring war on another player. This would allow the player to decide.

Second, I believe the percentage relates to how many of the Suzerain's troops respond. If you have it set to 100, and more than one colony rises up at the same time, what then? You have to draft the colony's troops if you want them to fight for you.

Yup...leaving the game now, new to the game...week and a half. Someone who is level 19 declared war on me and has thousands of troops was draining me of my resources. Was a fun game, but newbies cannot get ahead when put in a position like that. Not worth the effort with no results. They should allow time to truly build, or have a more even playing field. Sad..fun game. thanks for reading the rant.

    Strategies:
Do the research and find your Suzerain's other colonies and his resource fields. Write the other colonies and uprise simultaneously. He can't suppress them all at once.

Turn your production down to zero and get people in your alliance to send you resources; then use those to build up. He can still draft, but will get no tributes.

Have your alliance kick you out, then have your alliance attack your city with your gates closed. You could even take down your wall defenses. Don't have to use "commission quest" and buy cents if you do it this way.

Send annoying letters every day about the plumbing and sewer system being a shambles. Your Suzerain might just think it's funny enough to let you go.

Be patient, build, plot, and plan for a massive uprising. Would be a lot better though if you got two or five other colonies to do it at the same time.

Put together a website where those who have been colonized can go and enter their names under a Suzerain to help you find his other colonies with searching all over creation. The problem with this, however, is that few will go in and make a note that they got "uncolonized". Still, research, communication, and coordination are the keys to getting out of these---oh yeah, and patience.

just one problem if you shut down that city your others city feeds it you have to shut down all citys
so before you all go on with the bull**** wait till you get colonised there is no escape
once you are colonised you do not know if they have sent reinforcements to your city they could have up it by four or five they still feedthere own troops and how can you fight balistia like i had to when i was not a lvl to own them

I got so many problems with the colonize feature I don't even know where to start, so here it is.

Ok first of all, unless your alliance declares you have to wait 30 minutes before you can attack, which gives them 30 minutes that they wouldn't have had in age 1 to prepare or call for reinforcements.

And even if you do win the battle its an 8 hour suppression time, which is more than enough time to get reinforcements from every single person in your alliance. I also noticed the troop recovery rates in age 2 are just completely whack, some people I attacked got as much as 75-80% heal rates on their troops. Why should I have to splash honor on a much weaker opponent just to win the fight, or they keep whittling my troops down with their retarded troop recovery rates.

And last but not least, in order to actually colonize someone worth colonizing, it is extremely unlikely you will hold the city for long, or you will lose a lot of troops in the process from their alliance reinforcing them.

And after ALL that trouble you go through just to colonize someone actually decent, you waste troops/resources time, and at the end of the day, they still have a city standing there full of resources that you cannot touch as well as some troops left from the 75-80% heal rates they were getting even though your army outnumbered them 20 to 1, you might lose half of yours from repeated uprisings while they keep half of their much much smaller force. And then you finally look back on it and wonder if it was even worth it, did I get any gratification for victory? NO, the dude still has a city there with troops/resources and is still taking my valleys and I can't do a whole lot about it even outnumbering his army 20 or more to 1.

If you go into age 2 with an age 1 mindset you will be VERY VERY disappointed with age 2, and absolutely hate it at the same time.

Woof, your frustration is exactly what I'm talking about. Why keep playing a game against someone you have no chance against? H3llion, interesting. What I hear from you is that you are mad you can't destroy someone and don't like that they can defend their cities. Isn't the game about successful strategies against WORTHY opponents? Or, do you just want to dominate everyone around you? The latter desire indicates a deep-seated need to feel powerful. You can still attack NPC's and totally conquer them. Why is it more satisfying to you if there is a real person behind the city; a person who has invested many, many hours in their city? There is only one answer. You feel powerless in your own life and so come to Evony to feel powerful. Chill dude! Pick a worthy opponent and enjoy the battle of wits, not of might. Any trained monkey who can click a mouse can build an enormous army. Using it wisely is something else.
