Thread: Remember them...

    Default Remember them...

Please type the name of an alliance that you think should be remembered after they either fell apart, or only have inactive players now. Please also write what server they were from. I'll start it off:

AQUA- Server 95, The reason it went down was because all the people in it just stopped logging on. It still exists now but when it was "alive" it was ranked 3rd and now i dont even know what it's ranked, but it only has inactive players now. The reason i know this is because i used to be in it and then i left when it became inactive.

    blkwings - 98

this is how I think it saw it go down.

Small alliance(jesters) complains to nr2(Fury) alliance that they cannot handle blkwings that they just declared on (after we offered them truce, not a common occurrence, lucky them!), so the Furry alliance sister to nr 1(PaNiC) alliance declares on blkwings, and threatens them to get out of Swabia where the lovely Jesters were located. good food by the way, lots of great fishing(Aquarius/Atlantis) as well. blkwings retreats from Swabia, PaNiC wanting there members trys the Join or Die approach and makes(threatens) pretty much the whole server declare on blkwings. great fun! it wasnt even Fury or PaNiC fighting. it was their other small alliances picking off the tiny members, not once did they hit the host, Draco Blkwings. or humperdink for that matter.

Love the drama, Who turned out to be the spy in our left over small group but a trusted member who I will not name. Just very disappointing.

all in a good day tho. I hold no grudges. it was great fun.

You should too. If this thread is going to stay open it needs to be more than just a list.

    Cortosis - Server 1

Cortosis was a top 10 Alliance on Server 1 that died by its own hands . At the time that Cortosis died there was a great deal of nerfing going on in game that frustrated a lot of our larger members and the big hitters of the Alliance one by one started "retiring" including our Host Future. Future turned the Alliance over to Windyrock and we started to slid in our rankings though were we still in the 15 I believe. Anyway Windy was doing a great job as host and might of got us back into the top 10 again but real life issues caused Windy to have to quit also, and with him when most of the rest of the heavy hitters left in the Alliance.

This all happen during a time Cortosis was at war with BOB ( BOB=Band of brothers. A colilition of Alliances composed of at the time, P50T, Karnage, 1984, The Giants, and all there various and sundry Sister/subs ). Under the pressure of the War and due to the loss of most of the players able to effectively fight in that war The Leadership decided to disband Cortosis. I truly believe that if Future had remained host of the Alliance Cortosis would still be alive and kicking today and still somewhere near the top of the rankings.

"People once believed, that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens, that a terrible sadness is carried with it and the soul can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes the crow could bring that soul back to put the wrong things right"

KOTW of server 88. That was the first proper war alliance I was ever in. 35 members fighting almost every alliance in 2 states.
This included TruTH (3rd), Unbroken (9th), PPP (15th), Swabia (11th), Rangers (55th). That is all I can remember right now. It was shortly after Christmas and I don't remember every alliance. But not one defence report in over 2 weeks of fighting them. One time I actually counted over 500 attacks in a row from one of our members to one of these alliances taking out 6 players in one day.
Unfortunately it went down after the host decided to not show up one day. We had to reform as ADM1NS. Things never were quite the same after that and I quit the server soon after.

    Aura. s69 (ss21) Ranked #1 and #2
Reason: A few members of Aura wanted to make a small elite alliance.
And the host wanted to merge but some people didnt want to merge so they left
    and the Host disbanded Aura...

    Retired.... Or not

S33, ReMade. It was the best alliance I have been with. I was a noob on the server and joined an alliance lead by SyntaxError and went to war with a small alliance, DOTB. Big mistake. The DOTB guys(Griffith, Luffdog, Bealan, and a bunch of others) were from S5 and some were from even earlier servers. Coming out of protection they already had serious archer armies. They quickly brought our top player to his knees and we retaliated. Didn't go well, but instead of utterly destroying us, we merged, and they taught us how to really play the game. We quickly started moving up the ladder. We had several wars and merged the top players from the beaten alliance into our ranks and after one merger changed our name to United.

But, as part of that merger, the host from the other alliance became our VH. One night he decided to boot everyone and threw us into chaos. We took the opportunity to trim some dead weight and started a new alliance of trusted members. Thus, ReMade was born. We started a sister alliance, BeastMod, that quickly became a top 20 alliance. We had many glorious wars and won them all and absorbed the best members into ReMade (Assassins, Seraphim, and many others). We were the only alliance to standup to Lunatics (lead by Yang). We ported into there home land and tormented them and their sister alliance, Maniacs. They then ported to our homeland, and were quickly defeated and driven out.

We started to loose some longtime players and as one of the earliest active members left, I ended up as VH. The alliance Pain was becoming just that and ported into out homeland to war with our ally. This was unacceptable, and I picked a war with them. pain's host, Goatsack, ported within 10 miles of and I quickly ported right next door to him. I started launching 9 SB waves at him with an archer wave mixed in, all camp timed to land within a 2 second window. 5 million scouts later, Goat stepped down as host and peace negotiations started. Pain went back on their word and the war continued. Eventually, Pain dissolved and I retired from Age I. This was back in 12/09.

ReMade/BM was an awesome alliance with great players that became good friends. I really miss those days.

So now I'm back in Age II and hope that some of the upcoming proposed changes (CONQUEST) make it into the game soon. I just wish some of the oldtime S33/S5 guys were still around.

    Honor, s96.

I joined Honor in late October 2009. This was my first time playing Evony and I searched the alliance list looking for one that I felt would be a good place to learn the game. I didn't have to look far, as Honor was in the top 20 at the time. I actually had to wait a day to apply because they had 100 members at first, but when I saw it drop to 99, I sent a mail to the host - TheMaster - and asked to be let in even though I was still a couple thousand prestige points shy of the minimum. The fact that I was at 45k prestige by my 3rd day on the server must have impressed him, because he let me in.

Honor was a great alliance where people were very helpful. I had started out in Saxony and needed to move to Rom, and there were at least 4 players all trying to get me to be their neighbor. I ended up moving near Draconis, who became a good friend for a short time. I will never forget that ThomasW was another player who campaigned for me to move near his city, or how lucky I was to have chosen Draconis' location instead.

I had been in the alliance about a week - just barely out of bp and still learning the ropes - when all heck broke loose. I awoke one morning to find myself unallied again. I had no idea why I would have been booted, so I wrote to TheMaster and asked for an explanation. Instead I got a new invite back to Honor, which I accepted - thinking "ok, he must have booted me by mistake or something".

Only then did I learn what really happened. ThomasW had turned traitor. He'd been promoted thru the ranks (I forget if he was VH or Pres at the time), and used his power to boot everyone in the alliance. He couldn't disband it, so he and his new friends - BlackOps - attacked our host down to one city with 0 pop after kicking the rest of us from the alliance. Some members that were online at the time - including several whose cities were near Thomas' city, were given the "join us or die" ultimatum. Some accepted to save themselves, others restarted on the spot. Very few of them came back to Honor.

When everyone who wanted to return had gotten back in, we had gone from 100 members to about 35. Our host, TheMaster, took it all very hard, feeling responsible for allowing the traitor the opportunity to do this to us. He basically quit the game, but did come back long enough to appoint one of the other VH's (SnakeEyes) as Host.

Of the 35 that were left, these were the most dedicated, determined and motivated players. We took our alliance name seriously, and were highly offended that a trusted officer had done this to us. Survival and eventually defeating BlackOps became our sole mission in life. All other wars were put aside in pursuit of destroying BO.

The next few months I got a crash course in extreme Evony warfare, but the bonds we formed within our alliance were worth all the hard-fought battles and even the losses we suffered. Unfortunately, we never did get back to full strength, and our goal of destroying BO was thwarted when BO imploded on itself due to the clash of too many big egos at the top.

We took comfort in the knowledge that we had survived, despite all BO had tried to do to destroy us. In the void, 300 rose to power, including taking in some former BO officers. This was a betrayal of many alliances that had gone blue with 300 during the BO war, and trusted it's host. But the 300 host had ambitions - namely to dominate the entire server. Alliances were hit relentlessly and then forced to either be absorbed into a 300 alliance (they had a half dozen or more "siblings" in nearly every state), become another new "sibling" alliance, or be destroyed. Most of the smaller alliances had no choice, and some others were betrayed from within just as we had been before.

In January, SnakeEyes had to take a break, and appointed me as host. This was right around the time that BO died and 300 came to power. We continued fighting on as always, and while our numbers were smaller (down to the mid 20's by then), we were still surviving quite well. Then my husband needed surgery and I had to step down. I left my two trusted VH's to share the load of leadership and said my farewells to these good friends.

I didn't plan on returning until I saw the ad for Age II. I decided I wanted to check it out, but it's not turning out to be my cup of tea. The one thing it did do was remind me how much I loved the game, so I'm back on Age 1 now, on s142. I am hosting HONOR there, in memory of my old friends. We are small, and many of the members are new players who are slowly learning the game, but we will continue to grow.

You can't ever really go back again, so I don't expect the s142 HONOR to be anything like the one on 96 - or to face the same challenges. For one thing, I maintain very strict control over officer spots, and promotions are a rare thing. Other than that, my main goal is to help some new players learn to be good players, and hopefully win a few wars along the way.

But most of all, we will always play with "honor".

PS - I suppose I should give a nod to the former BlackOps here as well. They were the most hated enemy on the server, for good reason... but they also had some of the best players I may ever meet. Remolite was awesome, and while he ran BO, they were a formidable and frightening enemy. It was when he retired that things started falling apart for BO. I never once considered joining them, because I despise traitors and bullies, but I did have to envy their knowledge of game mechanics and the iron hand that kept them in line for so long.

300 posed a challenge primarily because of their strength in numbers - but BlackOps did not need numbers. They were, in their prime, a force to be reckoned with, despite the fact that there were only about 10 of them that did the bulk of the fighting.
