No, he called handegg wimpy which I agree with. Have the players take the padding off and then you'll have yourselves a good sport, like rugby. And Rota, how is handegg faster paced than rugby when you have 5 seconds of play time and then 2minutes of huddles? I tried watching the superbowl this year and it was very effective at putting me to sleep.
However, I will not argue the fact that modern Professional Footballers are complete pansies. Whereas in the past there have been cases of players continuing games with broken legs, keepers playing on with broken hands. I hope the players can regain some sense of pride soon as seeing them roll around the floor for no apparent reason is just sad.
And get over your "America ownz all" attitude. Britain had its era, you've had your era, now i suggest you get used to sucking up to China.

If you want a slow sport, then try watching baseball. UGH!!!<snore>
I consider all that time footballers spend bouncing the ball around midfield to be worse than any time American football spends between downs. Football is INCREDIBLY slow paced if you look at the time between teams "making a charge" on goal. It's far more boring than any American football game, in my opinion. That is which is why a common football score is 1 - nil. UGH!!Get some nerve and just shoot the F-ing ball!!!
I meant faster on the field, not faster length of games. American football is very TV friendly with a pace that allows for commercials. The TV does not do justice to the speed of American football. I have been on the sidelines of football games, rugby games, and American football games. I can tell you that American football is much faster on the field than any other sport I have seen. The collisions are much harder, too. I think rugby players could give them some competition. But, the very fact that they don't wear pads makes them hold back a bit. The pads in American football allow the athletes more confidence to go "all out."

Maybe if I saw a live game then it would change my opinion of the sport and hopefully one day I get the chance to see one live.
I know what you mean about the padding providing confidence, I play the occasional game of rugby and i admit that sometimes players are hesitant to go into some challenges, especially when you have to stick your head down low right around peoples knees. But this is another factor to what makes a great rugby player, they have to be fearless as well as talented in order to be the best.
If you are watching good teams then the time the ball spends in midfield can be very entertaining. Seeing some of the worlds most skillful players make 50-60 yard passes with with pin-point accuracy or people like Christiano ronaldo and lionel Messi skipping past tackles as if the other players aren't there is great to see and well worth paying for. whereas watching people talk and crowd around is not entertaining. 1-0 is not a common score because the game is slow paced, but because it is very competitive. In american football you have 4 attempts to walk/run/carry/throw/kick a ball 10 yards, and then you get another 4 attempts to do it again and again and again all the way up to the line. Hardly difficult which is why you have big scores, the game is very biased towards attack. Football is a much more competitive game and requires a far greater amount of skill and teamwork to score goals which is why in general scores are lower, but when you see the top teams play the scores are generally much higher because the players are more talented and work well together.

I bet if all the rich snobby handegg player's played rugby they would crap themselves.
Also hurling an Irish sport has been proven to be the fastest sport and one of the oldest sports in history check it out here
watch all this movie its great
also these players do not get payed ANYTHING absolute nothing its just a hobby also there is no padding involved apart from the helmets(optional)
also +1 rep for that as when China awakes the world will shake
but we all know the leprechauns pwn'z everything ... EVERYTHING!!!

Go vikings
I'm as much in favor of Irish pride as anyone in the world. I'm all Celt at heart.
But, I have been to many lacrosse games, and the speed does not come close to pro American football. There may be some advertising tagline "the fastest game on grass," but that doesn't make it true. There is also nowhere near the collision factor of American football.
If pro American football players got on a rugby field, they would run over most rugby teams. That's very debatable, but I can guarantee they would not "crap themselves."
Who doesn't love him?
