ok so you get colonized whats the advantage does the Suzy's own troops protect you from another attack or do you use your own troops. 2. if the new attacker wins is he your new Suzy can you even attack a colonized town?

So no, it's not beneficiary to be a colony.
If you making a launchpad city to attack alliances outside your state, and you get someone to colonize you that agrees not to draft it can be beneficiary, not sure why this is so hard for ppl to understand, launchpad city's usally don't make that many resources anyways(most don't bother getting vally's for them b/c there pretty much throw away city's), so who cares about the 10%, and if your enemy does make a deal with your suzrain(who's really not your enemy) to not protect you anymore?, oh well, these citys are made to be throwen away, abandon, and start again, or play defence, and make your enemy pay to colonize you, then just abanden it, and do the same thing somewhere else. It will cost him alot to conquer you, and it cost very little to conquer another ten in the state. Can make argument that you don't need a suzrain to do this, but, like I said its a peace of mind thing, and if you get someone thats an enemy of your enemy you'll probly have someone willing to take losses for you if he knows your hurting them.

Paying 10% tribute to someone thats not your enemy, or better yet, the enemy of your enemy is not really a big deal, you have a nice launchpad to attack your enemy, and you have peace of mind, o/c paying tribute to someone your alliance is at war with is not beneficiary, but someone your not at war with, or the enemy of your enemy is fine, "if" you can make the no draft deal with them.

I'm exploring the benefits of being colonized too. Just as in real life people fear "knowing" they are under restriction. Many live a fake sense of "freedom" by being brainwashed into believing they are "free" by those who unknowingly to them truly oppress them. Being colonized is a very important strategy part of this game and should not be seen as the loser part. Great CEO's started by receiving orders themselves. The difference is visible when comparing them to bad CEO's having been spoiled brats that never accepted orders from anyone ever.

I've never been colonized or a suzerain myself, so i don't have any input to work from.

If this isn't the right thread for this topic, i ask the powers that be to move it where it should be, thank you.
