I didnt know about rep for the longest time. Til someone asked me how much i have. But it is way better to get rep on a well thought out post and have someone leave you a sweet comment to let you know it's read rather then getting rep because it's demanded for. It also bothers me that people get upset at gray rep. Be happy that someone noticed your posts enough to let you know

You know, back in MY day, getting 1000 posts was an actual achievement. Back a year ago when I led the entire forum for sheer posts, and that number was scarcely 800.

1000 posts is nothing these days. Anyone who sticks around for a month or so typically gets that high.
