    3) Do we know about this bug? Has it been reported already? Only if this is new to us do we post it through. We don't need 372 identical reports of the same bug, and merging them all is vastly time-consuming.

If your bug reports didn't make it through, your best bet is to verify that you were actually reporting a bug. One. Not several in one post. Please also verify that you are giving us information to identify the actual problem. It would also help if you read through the other posted bugs in there to ensure you aren't posting a duplicate bug. If you are sure you've done all those things and it still doesn't get through, then you can rest assured we are aware of the bug and have it on our list to be addressed.

Unfortunately, it's a bug reporting forum. It isn't for discussion, or asking questions, or giving your opinions. Please feel free to use other forum sections for those activities.

For the question you ask here? We're fixing bugs every day. We post about them frequently here, on facebook, and via twitter. There are many more that we don't post about because they are rather technical. For example, if the devs tell us that "we corrected a render error that was caused by a value integer being set at 1 instead of 0" then no...we don't post that. I promise that we have a team that works very hard, and very long hours, resolving issues every day.
When you receive these bugs reports and immediately close them out, how do you prioritize things then? From my perspective, it seems that you address the smaller bugs and are not fixing the larger ones. These are the ones that most people seem to complain about and seem to go unfixed. I see Dawnseeker's updates and a lot of the time I think, I didn't even know that was a bug. I have not seen or heard anyone complain about that. Then my suspicions are confirmed when I see people making posts saying exactly what I was thinking.

Why are you posting bug reports on twitter or Facebook? Isn't this the home page? It makes no sense that you update a Facebook page when the game leads us to this site. Having to go to three different sites to find out bug information is totally stupid.

Doesn't take much time to type and people get the fealing something is done.
Ignoring often increases complaints and gives more spam because people feal like their problems isn't being handled.
I have said this so many times and Evony doesn't want to listen. They wouldn't get near the amount of complaints if they actually kept people informed.

I have complained about this same bug. Foxy has stated that they are unsure what is causing this and do not have a solution. There is a thread dedicated to this in the bug reports. You're not the only one to have their troops nuked. It is over a month old and I really hope they start putting some more effort into this and get it fixed.

That's not why your threads get locked/deleted. Every thread that has been locked has specifically broken the rules, even if we've been too quick to edit it. What you see is people re-posting similar but toned down versions, screaming for justice, and essentially spamming. If you break anything located in the forum rules here: http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=615 Your thread can be edited/moved/closed/merged/removed/etc.

I wouldn't spend my money on troops until it's sorted out either. It's a known issue, one they are spending a lot of time on trying to determine the root cause so they can fix it. I wouldn't take the chance until they announce a fix, you are absolutely justified (and smart) for not doing so.

As Foxy said on the last thread about this here: http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=122923&highlight=reset
They are aware it's a huge issue and are working on it. I've been here over a year and watched the "big issues" take time but most of the player-impacting ones are either fixed, or something is put in place to bypass it.

Since you can track your ID tags in helpspot, and see their comments, questions, etc, it would be pretty silly for them to just close it out. If you notice your helpspot ID is instantly closed out, PM Valkirah and if you get no response, Thalin, and so on. They need to give reasons, replies, ask questions, or fix the issue before closing it, right?

Smaller bugs are easier to fix and take less time. That's why they are small bugs. The bigger fish require entire servers to go down for a days or even weeks in some games. People would flood Evony with hate mail over it, more crashing after the fact due to the swarm of angry people just wanting to get back on. Bigger bugs need to be done in the background, tested, figured out with as little disruption as possible to the majority of people so it has even less impact than taking the whole server (or all servers) offline when there's not a guaranteed fix.

Most of his posts I get PMs about, and tickets are sent in. But if it's only a "small bug" or mild irritant, people don't complain as much about it, some don't even notice. I haven't seen a bug fix personally that has ever been new news to me, and I'm surprised a lot

You are correct, and I hope they get it fixed soon too!

    Several comments:

First, this is not in what you said, but what seems to be apparent - Evony wants nice, neat, concise reports that can easily be categorized / dumped into a spreadsheet. If this is indeed true, then they should give up on the bug reporting in a forum format and go to a web form that is preloaded with exactly what they want in the way they want it, leaving only a small area for players to freetext.

I've worked as a developer in a Fortune 500 company with people reporting issues that had no experience in formulating concise "Test Case-worthy" records of issues. I also was separated from the person reporting the issue, at least at first, by a help desk staff who also had creative ways of phrasing issues and would not ask for additional details while on the call. Some knew enough to do that, but most did not.

I understand, perhaps more than most, that figuring out the problem based on the problem reporting coming in can be a guessing game. However, there are more professional ways of handling things rather than giving the appearance of bit-bucketing reports. No, reports might not be just tossed out, but without any kind of feedback to the person, it can certainly come across that way.

Moving to a tracking system, like what helpspot supposedly is (I've never tried it, so I don't know how it looks in relation to what I'm used to, BMC Remedy / Action Request System), would give customers more "warm fuzzies". Not posting a report, even if it was a duplicate, without any response back to the customer that their issue had already been reported, leaves a "cold shoulder" feeling...even if it is not intended (employees are really busy).

...and yes, the customers (internal...fellow employees) where I worked DID start asking for updates on issues, and at the time that I left, we were working on getting a status update area on what we were working on that was visible to the entire company. No, you don't have to go into highly technical details, and no, you don't have to list EVERY issue that's out there, especially if it is highly technical and was not reported via a customer but was discovered by the development team. All you need to do is provide a small level of a progress indicator, with terms such as "Open - Unassigned" for new reports...that would move to "Open - Assigned", then "Open - Researching", then would branch to something like "Closed - No Issue / Working as intended" or "Closed - Duplicate Report"...or "Open - In Progress" (meaning coding was being done)... etc...

Second, as to major bugs that require the server going down, etc... :

Those issues should have been sorted in Beta. That is what a Beta is for. This product was released to the public as "Final" when it was really barely a true Beta in terms of quality.

I'm sure I'll "win friends and influence people" this way...but these are all valid critiques that do not use foul language and have basis in real-world business environments. If it is "rude" or "arrogant" to state how things would work much better if it was better organized and if the company provided feedback to customers...then I don't know what to say really...

The problem is, today is the 5th day after it happened and I reported it. I have no idea if they are even TRYING to fix it. I am really disappointed. I just want someone to contact me and tell me what's going on or why it hasnt been resolved yet.
