Thread: An Arising Issue

    Default An Arising Issue

"Interesting how a security issue turned into a totally different
    discussion.
It seems Evony, free forever, enforces it's rules quite well. Fair
enough. We all should have read the terms of use before we start
playing. Possibly we were so excited to play we might have
overlooked a few lines of text. To remind myself, i read them again.
Many interesting items in there, which i intend to fully abide by.
Regan Mercantile, LLP, as they are listed on my credit card
statements, has created a wonderful game that I thoroughly enjoy,
and I must say, well done. I have had many months of enjoyment and
hope to continue to do so.
Being a student of the law, I am rather interested in the terms of use,
as they are written and applied in various situations. The terms of
use are very well written, concise, and all encompassing.
Considering the posts by evony administration on the last forum post,
i would like to make a short evaluation of alliance names on server
    127.
I didn?t even make it through the list. You can clearly see that every
alliance on this server could have their name banned for one reason
    or another.
I add this list not to encite reaction from evony, but to illustrate my
    point.
You have created an environment clearly enjoyable by all that play, or
they wouldnt be playing. The gameplay is tremendous, the interactive
features are phenomenal, and the twists and turns keep us awake at
night. I must say well done, and I think we all would.
I was a little surprised to see my last post totally change subjects
from the original intent. With that said, banning a member who has
clearly been a pivotal part of your game, that you created, seems to
be a bit harsh, which i say respectfully. You do own and manage the
game, which must be a large task.
I simply ask that you step back for a moment, evaluate the Evony
world, and ask the simple question, what is offensive? What should
be banned? What have individuals complained about? Do players
who have spent money have the right to state their objections?
I believe that any corporation or entity has to respond to customer
opinions. I myself am not immune to this. It is a pain staking task to
operate a business in this day and age, with the threats of credit card
charge backs, civil action, state's attorney general complaints, Better
Business Bureau ratings, and overall internet conversation about a
company can influence many corporate decisions. I do not envy you
in this task. The prior thread was not meant to encite hard feelings
against evony, but a call to all of us to evaluate our gameplay
decisions in a game where there is endless possiblilities of player
    action.
Considering your success in creating a wonderful game, I simply
hope you would evaluate some of these issues and reconsider what
could be considered a rather harsh reaction to what players
determined to be a players forum. A place considered to be a
conduit used to voice one's opinions and views without reprimand for
    personal feelings and thoughts.
    Best Regards

    Achmidon
    Satisfied Evony Customer"

This is developing from S127 chat where our leader has been banned, along with achmidon im assuming I will be next. But I think everyone should see evony trying to hide there laziness.

I can't tell if this is a joke because of the "lol" in the comment.

Just in case it isn't a joke...
The iEvony program has been discontinued. There is no more need for codes.

It's a copy/paste of a post that Achmidon made earlier tonight. That thread was locked or deleted.

I'm not sure what the issue is. Offensive names are reported by offended players, and then Evony follows up by enforcing a name change or more severe punishment if necessary(very rare). There's no way to set a filter to catch EVERY name of players and alliances that break ToS. So, Evony relies on players to report them, mostly.

Oh ok, that rings a bell.

This was actually a pretty well written post, if you ignore the logic behind it. Evony is not liable to customers when other customers break ToS. Study up "student of the law".
