Thread: How strict is Evony about multi accounts?

Default How strict is Evony about multi accounts?

From my understanding it's against the rules, but I see lot of people who have multiple accounts. It gives them an unfair advantage imo. They make it quite obvious by adding a number after their lord name, and are in same alliance etc. Now I realize it's hard to track this (I run an Ultima Online server and this can be a problem there too) but just wondering if this is something that is regularly tracked and dealt with?

From what i've seen botters are the priority when looking for cheaters. Multi accounters are hard to get because sometimes it isn't what it seems. I think more sweeps directed at multi accounters is needed if there is to be any noticeable difference.

I think they are as strict as they can be. Multi account players are much MUCH harder
    to catch than botters are.

Agreed! And they have to delve into behaviours on those accounts. A lot of people still don't know they aren't allowed to have multiple accounts in their household without telling Evony because they haven't been to the forums or read the TOS.

This is very true. I get fustrated too when i see Matt1, Matt2 and Matt3, running three sister alliances and stuff like that. All you can do is report it.

Remember your report alone will not get the person banned, because in an adversial game like this you can't always trust sources that may have conflicting interests.

So report the person, their account will be flagged and maybe they will get picked up in a future sweep but probably not, as this is not a high priority for evony when Age II is bugging and mergers are having snafus.

To answer the OP, they are not strict on multis.

Well, it is quite hard to find multi accounters compared to botting.

Just curious how do they find botters, or is that kept a secret? It seems it would be hard, unless somebody is stupid and actually leaves the bot 24/7 and does not add randomization to their code.

They won't say because then those who code the bots will simply change the bot to avoid getting caught. It's a constant battle between botters and the devs.

From what Ive figured my best guess is its got something to do with repetition. which any bot will have if you leave it for any real amount of time

Pretty much. A bot is incapable of not having a "pattern" even randomized bots do. It's just a matter of being able to track that pattern closely enough to confirm a bot that makes it challenging, and which is why there are dev-hacker wars in any game on a daily basis
