Thread: Hero leveling question

    Default Hero leveling question

If I keep using a hero to attack or defend, but never actually go in feasting hall to upgrade the hero, will it gain faster? Ex: instead of doing it every time, I wait a month, will that be more effective?

My theory is, the lower the level is, the faster the hero gains exp, so if I leave it low level and keep using it then it will gain faster. Am I correct in thinking this?

It would be slower I believe. You can raise your hero and it would have higher attack so it would do better in battles and be able to kill more troops gaining it more experiance

The only advantage of hoarding experience is when using anabasis, on war etc.
Aside from that it won't gain experience faster. There were some cases of experience hoarding where they got so much that it was accidentaly removed and somehow went into negative experience, though I think that was recently fixed.

This bug has not been fixed to my knowledge. Source?

Ah ok, so I'm better off just regularly leveling them up then. I do have a few items such as on war so I might hoard on just one hero so I can use it on that one.

actually, thsoe items are besst applied AFTER a level up. read their descriptions, it says xxx exp points or y% of CURRENT level cap.

Higher your level cap, the more those items help.

eg:- applying on war to a lv150 hero is definitely more valuable than applying it to a lv50 hero.

The only thing you will gain by not upping your heroes is the cost of gold to keep them.

In addition to jorbaud's point about killing more troops with a higher level hero, you also produce troops faster and hence get experience from troop building faster with a higher level hero. That said, the amount of experience needed to progress 1 level is fixed, so in that sense it makes no difference if you level it up or not.

As Bad4GoodOz points out it will cost you extra gold to level them up. Another point to note is that if you plan to pass on the hero the someone else it will cost them more medals (and gold) to persuade the hero if you have levelled it up. Also if you plan to Holy water the hero keeping the level low will cost you less holy waters.
