Thread: AgeII Colonies

  1. #1

    Default AgeII Colonies

I would like to respectfully ask the programmers to do one of two things when it comes to colonies:

    1. Delete the colonize part,
    or
    2. When a player is colonized, make it so they cannot take other people's valley's.
I dont know if i am the only person who has had this problem. One of my friends colonized this person right below me. She has a very small army, one that's easily taken out with about 20k archers. She continiously hits my valleys, then abandons them. haha, ik, funny. but i cannot hit her, she has no valleys, and its highly annoying to have to cap the same lvl 10 lakes around you.

Any suggestions, please tell me, otherwise programmers, please take these options and think about them

What did you expect her to do? Be happy about losing 10% of her resource production and a percentage of her troops every single day? She cannot even teleport to get away or ever have a chance of successfully oprising against him. Taking his and your valleys every single day is the only way she has of getting him to release her as a colony.

News flash: players don't like being colonized in Age II anymore than they liked getting stepped on in Age I daily. At least in Age I they can sometimes get away.
But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

But she gets to KEEP 90% of her goods unlike age 1 where you can be raped repeatedly for 100% of your items.

Some of the smarter ones that I've colonized have asked me politely to be released.

Those even smarter have accepted my offer to hold them colonized until they are actually strong enough to make it out there on their own.

Just like age1, the actual gameplay of age2 would be defined by what players make of it, not what the devs meant it to be.

In age 1 is where they pay for it. They can loose citys, all except 1, loose all resources, all units dead due to no food left.

In age 2 they loose a small amount of the income, you can time the uprise battle to whenever you want, get 1 mill or more troops as reinforcements from your alliance . even your alliance mates historical heroes can help you out in breaking free. So for a person to hold a colony in age 2, he needs to be stronger than most of the alliance combined.

How could they "sometimes get away" in age 1 compared to age 2 ?

In AgeI, they can teleport away and never be attacked by that particular player again.
In AgeII, teleporting does not break the hold someone has on their city.

    Three cheers to the lady.
