Default colonizing: nice upgrade or a joke?

A player has been plundering my lakes. No problem right, just attack him and he'll go away. Problem is that he is colonized already by one of my alliance members. I cannot attack the only option would be to colonize him.

What is the point of having one of your alliance members colonize someone if the colonized player can continue attacking members of your alliance without consequences? I want to demolish his army so he can't plunder me! It doesn't make sense.

Is this a major glitch in the game or am I missing something?

It is a smart strategy to annoy you. I had one like that. I just checked the box to ignore his attacks and reinforced my valleys so he lost all his troops anyway. You can have your friend abandon him and then attack him yourself.

You are so right, colonized players shouldn't be able to do anything once they are colonized except sit there while their troops, heroes and resources are taken every single day depending on the whim of the suzerain! I'm adding sarcasm tags just in case...
But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

Who are you, Nancy Grace. R u just going to ignore what I said and see only what you want to see. Hey, I don't expect the player to sit there and do nothing. But, if the player can continue attacking other player's lakes then they should be able to get attacked. Are there no repercussions to their actions?

Silly me, once a player is colonized they are allowed to attack anyone without the fear of being attacked. This makes total sense.

The obvious Solution atm is to have your alliance member stop colonizing him and take him out yourself... just give him another city to colonize in exchange...

Or just send some troops to the valley and let him lose his troops, he can only lose so much in colonization mode

Thank you for a useful answer. But, what if my only option is to colonize him as it is sometimes. Which is another question. Why is it that you can only colonize some players instead of attacking them?

Well AgeII is supposed to be able to reach out to the people who want to relax and not worry all the time about their cities and such... So they replaced the attack button to make it more friendly to the less hardcore players...

At this time, i believe they are implementing an addition to have the attack button come back in some form or shape, not exactly sure, but you will all be notified in that case.

Age 2 was rushed into production. They implemented things that they never thought what the cause/effect would be on the game play. This is just another example showing how they did not look into how this was going to change things. I have the exact same thing going on with one of my colonies. He attacks my valleys everyday hoping I will release him.

The correct way this should have been done was that the colony can not attack any player's cities or valleys until they are no longer a colony.

That won't work because once the player is colonized again he will just continue to harass the other members of the alliance. Right now there isn't anything that you are going to do to stop the colony from stealing people's valleys.

Evony can say that they are doing this and that but until they actually do something I remain a skeptic. I think they are understaffed and everyday new bugs and glitches keep popping up on both Age 1 and Age 2. Seems like they are spending all their time fixing these instead of trying to fix the way their games play. Any new additions to the game are not going to be coming anytime soon.

Right now all they are doing is saying they are thinking about adding an attack feature. They have never said they are. It is just a way for them to delay things and keep people interested and still playing the game. They been telling us for 2 months now that they are going to be mirroring the Age 1 and Age 2 accounts. So far they have given no definite plans to do anything. Evony's standard line is "we are working on it and we'll let you know". So if you expect to see some sort of attack feature I would guess that it is at least a couple months out. Until then you are just going to have to deal with the it.
