Thread: Am I over reacting

Yeah...let's say I lose internet for a few days 'cause I don't have a job and don't pay my bills.

Is that a good enough reason not to attack me?

Kaiba you have a point. Mostly the reason I was mad was that this guy had been ticking me off all month and I told myself that If he had the audacity to attack during my Grandmothers funeral I would unload on him. If I am to be honest its not about my Grandma its about the guy. Everytime I talk to him he is so smug and I try to keep my cool. I let him take and raid out of a general pacifism, and the fact was part of alliance I didn't want to tango with even if I could take him on his own and I told him not to this one time. This one time I said lay off or at least wait a few days and he couldn't.

And it ticks me off that there are probably more just like him. Guys you can't reason with. Guys that even if they are beating the crap out of you you can't have a conversation and a joke with because they have no respect.

I can understand him attacking... in war you use your opponent's weaknesses against him, including inactivity, sleeping patterns etc. However, we're a civilized society and this is only a game. It is disappointing he didn't lay off when you had a death in the family... would've been the classy thing to do.

Back when I first started playing, on a server long long ago.....

The alliance I was in had a 3 day rule. If you were going to be gone for more than 3 days you had to mail the host.
I went on vacation, mailed the host as per the rules and thought all would be well.

I came back and found the host had quit, I had been booted and farmed out by my own alliance. It was early in the server so I just packed up and moved to a new one. But I was pretty enraged...LOL

This is a game that includes everyone.
Not everyone is sympathetic to you.

Don't complain. Morality does not work in war.
Instead, try building a bigger army for defense.
I have one, and I know if I'm being attacked when I'm having "life issues" or simply not playing Evony (as I am not playing evony for 21 hours a day), my city can survive a fairly massive attack until I log in.

    A real army. It's dream truce. 24/∞.

Those are the guys who play war game. Those are the guys you see winning.

Fight fire with explosive. A great defense and a greater strategy is the solution to beating them at their own game.

Also, I'd like to take this moment to honor an Evony pal of mine, Grimwolf. He's in the army, so he goes inactive for long periods of time. Yet, he doesn't complain when he gets back with a damaged city. He simply builds up, gets over it, and gets an army. That's what you should be doing.
You can't just stand there and complain while they shoot you. You've gotta pull out that revolver.

Well I can see the not believing me point, but dude. This isn't war its a game, and somethings trancend that game. It also ticks me off when people use the this is a war game to excuse any and all actions taken in it. People should still have class in their interactions with one another even if they are competing or "warring".

That is essentially YOUR OPINION. Not everyone sees the world in the same light. You've gotta fight on common ground- don't try to make rules that aren't protected by the rulebook. Sure, I personally believe that's immoral. But does that even matter in the game? Does my belief in morality prevent an army from sacking my city? No. It's just the same as the alchemists believing magic would give them gold. Never happened. Belief is not the definition of reality. Reality is its own defintion.

Maybe I am just naive but the large should not prey on the weak. Instead of gloating people should give new ( just so people don't get the wrong idea I have been plaing for a year and a half"players advice without being smug. And rather than attacking just because you can (which is stupid and wastes resources anyway) people should attack others for in game reasons "resources, territory, farm land , alliance obligations ect.

That's my personal code and hey I can accept that most people don't live by it. I can deal with that It is just. Attacking during a funeral just crosses the line for me and rankles something in me that thinks that if people won't respect that there is something seriously wrong.

You need to join an alliance that will reinforce your cities and counter attack for you.
