This is a game, and games are meant to be played for *FUN* - when it stops being fun, it's time to stop playing. It can stop being fun for many reasons, but the main one is because of the people you're playing with.
So far (and I consider myself very lucky), I've meat only honourable and decent players. I've been attacked, lost some and won some, but each time emails have been sent (during and after the confrontations) in the spirit of *a game*, and from the replies from the antagonists, they seemed to have taken it in the same spirit.
I don't mean to come across as being condescending, or to condone your antagonists position (where it me, I'd have been happy to give you a break, then again, I don't like picking on weak players, and tend to email them advice rather than attacking them).
That said, people are different, and this is a game where you play with people who may not be like-minded (this is the anonymous internet after all), and you have to remember why you're doing this in the first place.
Now for me, as soon as this stops being fun, I will stop playing, and I would advise you that if you find you are no longer having fun, then remember why you started playing this in the first place.
