Default Who else hates prestige dropping?

I for one am really sick of this whole prestige dropping thing, I kinda think it's BS. I realize prestige is not an accurate gauge of how good a player is, but it is the closest thing we have. With everyone now dropping pres constantly to look small or so they can send resources from dummy accounts, there is no real way to look at the alliance list or stats and just see which players/alliances are actually doing well. Very annoying.

Exploiting the single city low th on lvl 10's to gain massive prestige, thats worse.

Prestige is very easy to manipulate, and I know the devs are not thrilled about that, but I don't know what (if any) plans they have to change it.

What possible use could prestige dropping have?

This thing about multiple accounts - what an inefficient way to gain resources! I remember when I first started and I was searching Google to learn how to get resources, and there were suggestions like this. But player cities produce resources so SLOWLY. Farming (and selling food to buy whatever else you need) is much more efficient. Except for the earliest stages of the game when you have to wait for things to build and researches to finish, there's no real use for multiple accounts (and it's against the rules anyway) - mid-level and up, you could spend the whole day playing on one account, farming npcs, or searching out vulnerable players with lots of resources to steal, etc.

For the other: Why would you want to look -small-? In my experience, smaller players - especially if you have a high title - get a lot of attention. Looks like you might be easy to kill, and maybe you have a lot of resources worth stealing. Whereas players with high prestige tend to scare people away. Are you could to scout someone with five times your prestige, thinking maybe you'll be able to steal resources from them?

The artificial prestige raising is somewhat more of a problem. But even with that.. I'm not sure how bad it is for the game overall. People notice when it's done, and they also know that the player is probably quite vulnerable right afterward (having presumably killed off most of his/her troops). I'm sure that later, for people who didn't notice, it provides some protection from scoutings/attacks - but on the other hand, you look like a bigun but probably don't have the power to back it up if someone calls your bluff.

Players want to look small to lure people into attacking them thinking they'll be easy pickins. It is very prevalent on 129, and other servers I'm sure. You go to attack that little 200k pres guy, and find out he has literally millions of troops.

And big prestige doesn't scare anyone at high levels of the game. We went after a 1mil player shortly after BP when we were all around 200-300k pres, then we took out a 6mil player when we were around 600-700k. Pres really doesn't mean much, but with everyone dropping it constantly now it makes it damn near impossible to know who's at what level, outside of trial and error.

    How about scouting?

I just don't think the concerns make much sense. Some people are artificially dropping prestige. Some people are artificially raising prestige. You wouldn't expect to see -both- of these occurring if there was some clear benefit to one over the other.

What's the alternative anyway? Should you be able to click on a player and get a list of all their cities, all their heroes, how many troops they have, etc.? As the above commenter mentioned - you get that by scouting anyway. And you can look up their heroes in the stats list.

So what else could one want? In the later stages of the game the most important factor is skill anyway - and there's no stat to show whether someone knows how to use game mechanics or not.

With prestige raising, at least there's bragging rights if you get in the top ten. That seems like more of a problem, but again, it's really minor. I wouldn't complain if they did away with the alliance-dropping prestige penalty, but mostly just because I don't think there's much need for it. If someone wants to put themselves down to 200k prestige, then I thank them for my improved ranking.

I have over 2M of pres but I honestly don't care about it unless that it starts affecting the game play. Prinzessin will only need 32k press, and after that pres don't affect game play no more.

its mostly out of boredom i raise mine lower it just to keep my self entertained when my troops are all out farming... cuz when all ur cities have 10 waves out there isnt really anything to do... so y not manipulate it
