I judge people based on their best heroes, and number of cities (although the difference between 7-10 cities isnt very large)

This tells you how quickly they can produce troops when they set their mind to it. Also important is their reputation, and how active they are.

Btw, at the person who says you should farm for resources, and making resources from cities is inefficient.... you're wrong I'm afraid.

I only have 8 cities, which make me 125 million lumber and 75 million iron per day. Im sure there are many people with 10 cities, and level 10 buildings who are making 200 million lumber and 100 million iron per day.

Farming is good for food, not for iron/lumber.

Back on topic, I know when I first started playing about 4 months ago, prestige seemed like this big, important thing. About 2 months ago I started prestige dropping. Its pointless, I wouldnt even take it into consideration when attacking somebody.

i at first didnt dare scout the big guys who were 1mill prestige and up when i started the game i was always freaked they were gonna hit me. so point one if they had had lowwer prestige i woulda tried taking them out... it does lure people into trying to attack them,
i think the people going and gaining tons of prestige the quick way by doing those lvl 10 npc runs are smart dont we want our allaince to be up in number one rank for prestige? isiint that a quick way to do it? you obviouslly know they have troops to use to get up that high but dosent mean you can beat them
i see no problem with the way prestige is set

Well i know this in age II but that does not matter you can get it back pretty quick just use stratagey to attack npc's exactly right to get least losses and you get it back.

    ^ Quoted for truthiness.

Recruiting players based on honor and prestige stats is a sign of an amateurish alliance, in my opinion. The three metrics identified by Jengiss and Naems are hugely important, and those are the criteria we used in WMD on Wn1.

They are very easy to beat actually, its just finding their lone city.

They also end up harming the alliance they belong too, been in one myself, they couldn't attack any enemies and they never reinforced any members.

Which is all besides the point, either that crap exploiting needs fixed or just remove prestige rankings entirely.

There's an extremely easy solution, Thrillride. Far easier than Evony having to change or remove the prestige system.

    Just ignore it.

If you wouldn't care if it was gone, and it doesn't give a player any real advantage, you shouldn't care one way or another.

The people who artificially raise their prestige are generally horrible players who get annihilated the first time a skilled player notices them. Same for all those top ten alliances with a hundred members. Prestige ranking really doesn't matter at all. I guess I'm just saying that I wish it did. It bugs me that there is no quick way to determine which alliances are doing well unless you actually know all the in-game activity and wars that have gone on, and that is hard to know in states you don't occupy.

But yeah, for all those who think an alliance is top-dog if they are ranked top ten, explain why Tyrants, a 3 member alliance ranked 120 or so I think, is one of the most feared alliances on server 129? Same goes with us, a 10 member alliance (30 really, but half are inactives) ranked 80, but constantly defeating 100member high ranked alliances. The only top-ranked alliance that's worth a crap on 129 is St8farm, and that's just because they don't bother dropping their pres much. And they have 54 members, I think. I'd take a small low-ranked alliance over a 100 member farmville team ranked at #1 any day.

Very annoying.
Agreed, honor and prestige in this game and using it to find loopholes in the game mechanics is one of the biggest flaws of Evony game mechanics.

However, This is not the fault of players that use these loopholes. Write a bad game mechanic (like plundering reinforcements based on prestige) then give a loophole (like prestige dropping) and sure enough watch how people flock to it.

What really needs to happen is find better ways (behind the scenes) to eliminate multi accounting. If you dont want noobs sending resources to big accounts (pushing) then simply dont allow it or limit it to such small numbers it is not worth the time multi accounting.
