Yep, which is another choke point. The structure is set up in such a way that eventually a significant percentage of players cannot progress forward without spending money. Sure, one can claim truthfully that it is "possible" to progress without spending money, but it's also highly difficult and unlikely, given all the dynamics involved.

Courage, Freedom, and Wisdom medals are still flowing in abundance from level 5 NPCs (I have over 11K each of Wisdom and Courage medals, approaching 10K Freedom on N4). Justice and Nation come from level 10 NPCs.

Yes, I have a boatload of medals there, but the thing is, I'm approaching 1 year on that server. IMO, long-term customer retention is made by having the PvP aspects be more of an aspect than PvE grinding.
It was the same on s46 But at least you n server guys still get drops from NPCs and low level valleys (at least I'm lead to believe that)

Yes... I'm pulling in many Courage, Wisdom, and Freedom medals right now with level 5 NPC farming. I could poke around some at lower level valleys and get some of the other medals, but I don't have any reason to do so, as I've been at Prinzessin since sometime in October or November.

One thing that was said was that the company wanted players to "have a sense of accomplishment" when reaching Prinzessin. That infers that it was too easy before. To that, all I have to say is it took me 4-5 months of daily 8-12 hour (and sometimes more than that) gameplay to reach Prinzessin. That is more time spent than what would be consumed by a traditional "full time job" during that same period.

I don't have a full time job. Wish I did. The takeaway though is that efforts that required the commitment level of a full time job is not "too easy". If anything, it's "too difficult", and that was with the far-more-plentiful drop rates.
