Thread: Drop rates in age II

If the loot tables in this game are like the loot tables in every other game, then not every single item has the same chance to drop, i.e. higher value items should have a lower chance to drop while lower value items have a higher chance to drop. Because there is a double roll, most likely, on attacks (first to see if something drops, then to see what drops, or a triple roll (to see if something drops, then how many items drop, then what drops), the actual drop rate might not actually be the same as the coded drop rate. This should mean that if there is a 1%* chance to drop a mich script, and a 1% chance to drop an item, the chance to get a mich script from any attack should be less than 1%.

*I'm just using 1% as an example.

But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

I have gone a month now and got 3 rose medals farming medium to small valleys. How I will ever reach 10 for a promotion I dont know. I have lots of bigger medals but the lower ones?

as for farming NPC's yes I saw a very big change in the drop rate recently. Now it is just Gems and the occaisional medal (not rose)

    1. Apart from delicate/flawless gems and medals I have gotten absolutely no other drop. I attack a LOT daily. AgeII-ALL1

    2. "Obviously" yes; high drop rate equals less income for the company. That, I understand and is natural. You run this game for money, not for getting good karma in next life. Whoever can't understand the costs, needs and goals behind a business operation...oh well. Also, for some of the drops, you gave another way to obtain them - via facebook (like the vials of holy water), which is very welcomed.
However, the players here that claim there is no other drop, can't all be in the same parallel universe where drops have disappeared just for them. In case you do intend to have some drops besides gems and medals, please consider that if we are telling the truth, perhaps there is a tiny bug affecting the situation or something.

    Just an idea.

I, too, have only seen gems & medals. I know amulets, armor scripts, and such are in there somewhere but I haven't seen them yet on age 2.

Rats. I'd better go n farm the 50 miles around me now! Who knows when the next bugfix nerfs the gem drop!!!

N plz give 'em more rose! Killing 1-2 city players is no fun at all!!! Need some worthwhile game.

Yes, but if the code is structured that way, then you get super-super-low drop rates, which is what people are saying.

    1% of 1% is 0.01%

1% of 1% of 1% (assuming the 3 levels, like you said) is 0.0001%

This means that anything on the second tier that is set to a low percentage, and likely everything on the third tier, becomes very, very, very scarce, which, again, is what people are saying.

It is becoming apparent that these low drop rates ensure that non-spenders will be poking around for several years before they'd be able to get to end-game. That won't retain customers. Eventually those that spend will run out of the non-spending players (fodder) and they too will move on...

Being overly-restrictive and trying to coerce ("entice") people too heavily often has the opposite effect... Think "telemarketer calling at all hours of the day"...

Wrong, the customer isn't always right.
Neither is the company... If there was indeed a bug that made things "too easy", then there could also be a bug that has made things "too difficult", but at this point, the company is being adamant that this is the way things are meant to be...

Not only that, but people with 1-2 cities cannot recover from an attack unless they are completely left alone because of not having the additional resource collection / troop production capabilities... Odds are those players will quit after being pummeled...

On a positive note, I'm finally out of the "rose blockade" on Age II. It took 20 attacks to get the last 1 rose medal. A lion and a cross dropped as well, so 3/20, or 15%...from level 3 valleys. That seems to be consistent for me. I'd hardly call that "readily available", but it's monumentally better than hunting for medals on Age I...

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's noticed this. In my first week of playing I was getting mich scripts, lost armor etc every 10 attacks or so, for the past 2 weeks or more I've seen nothing but gems and medals.

I'll give you that mich scripts and such may have been dropping to frequently, but they're now seemingly non existent. What gives? I can't be THAT unlucky can I?

I have been getting amulets and scripts at a steady rate lately. It would seem everyone else is just unlucky.
