    Default Seriously

I've been attacking lvl 4 and lvl 5 NPCs, on a constant basis of 200-350 attacks per day, for the last week. I got my first actual drop besides those stupid gems and medals. It was a Holy Water... I wonder what terrific item I will get next week, since the drop rate is so low that I might as well put in for the lottery.

Here's an idea: Speakers - get rid of them entirely, should be free to talk in world chat.

Items that aren't really truly good for much:
Holy water, crappy stratagems, hero hunting. Set to 5% people get to see they are getting SOMETHING, and don't get discouraged.

Items that are useful, but needed in vast quantities:
All of the armor working materials needed, make them all 3%.

    Fun, and useful items:
Regular teleporters, Mich scripts, should be 2%.

Rare item: Adv teleporters, and your best sellers, make them .1%

You guys always talk about "How can we make money if you don't buy" Well, let me put it this way. If I charge 10 dollars for a show, and I get 5 people, I make 50 bucks.... if I charge 5 dollars, and more people come because of the lower price, say 20 come now, I make 100 dollars... simple economics. If you drive everyone away due to overpricing things and making a "free" game, so difficult you really have no choice but to get dominated or pay, then people will leave. However, if you continue to push it where people get their items, more people will play, and get impatient and then buy your items. Which means you make more profit.

Also, onto the matter of hero gearing, since that is where you truly make your profit... lvls 10-15 of your star upgrade cost like 1000 or 2000 cents each... thats 10 or 20 bucks.... for 1 person to upgrade all his equipment from lvl 10 to 15 (and there will be people who would do it) you're looking at a grand total in the thousands of dollars... from 1 player! I don't get where you guys are like, oh, we'll go broke, maybe they should lower the salary on the people who do nothing? Like the ones who argue there is nothing wrong with the drop rates when there most certainly is.

If you want to debate on this, or if you'd like me to fix the crappy rates and help make this a better game so I can actually have a lot more fun playing it again. Then feel free to email me at Mordredomega@hotmail.com

I look forward to your criticism and you telling me I'm wrong while you bathe in hypocrisy.

I second that. I've so far payed around 80$ on this game, but no more. Because of the low drop rates there is no point in spending at all, before it gave you a little advantage and you could save time. Now it is pay or you get nothin, then I'd rather go with nothing (you know most ppl won't put up with being tossed around like this and will either stop buying or ultimately leave this game). Btw I think you should skip the Free Forever now.

Edit: you know that 0.0000000000...1=0 right?

People also spend a good deal on advanced teleports to get the hero. People buy these items, advanced teleports for high end players and materials to upgrade hero gear. At least let people get the mich scripts regular teleports. Its not asking that much on an attack of a barbarian 5 or 10. I get nothing to drop on barbarian 5's or 10's anymore. Yet we lose troops to the 10's. 1-5% drop rate would be fine on items such as regular teleports and mich scripts. Its currently at a 0% drop rate on npc 1-10's or maybe 1 in 10,000. Any way this can be adjusted?
Can Evony Team adjust it? Yes, they can adjust anything in the game. However, do they wanted to adjust it, or to adjust in what degree? That is another question.

As Domi indicated in his post, it is obviously not intended for players to win literally hundreds of valuable items in a short period of time.
Dawnseeker, I do like the way that you keep communicate with us openly. But honestly, your replies have seriously discredit yourself.

I believed that canceling the drops as a business decision has nothing wrong, but to giving out false information is inappropriate. I would challenge you to play Evony yourself and tell me if you will agree that the drop should be adjust again or not.

Out of more than 1000 recent winning battles (from the May 24th update to today,) all I got is nothing but gems and medals from lv 1~10 valley / barbarian's cities. Tell me, which side should I believe? Should I believe in you or should I agree with others which you claimed as giving our "false information?"

Seriously, I already started thinking about leaving this game (after all, this is not the only "free" online game on earth) ... I think I will just hang on for another week or two to see if there is going to be any improvement.

Mostly because there really isn't a properly balanced mass multi player strategy game out there yet. The guy that writes it is an instant billionaire.

I may just go back to uni and learn how to write it myself. Really the game mechanics HAVE been done before. Just on a smaller scale before internet. Thousands of balanced multi player strategy games out there in the boardgame form. Yet the writers of the new online games are not the same guys who write the online ones.

I have been a serious gamer for well over 30 years. I have been waiting a very long time for the online games to catch up with the old serious boardgames. I even was part of a group that playtested new boardgames for several major companies. I try to look beyond bugs and such and look at the actual game play.

In all actuality Evony and Evony age II is one of the better online strategy games so far. They got the basics but fail in the play balance.

As far as the concept of making people pay. Sure enough everyone needs a profit. However, make the game superior and you wont be able to keep them away!

Drop rates? Clearly Evony has spoken. This isn't our imagination. They fixed a bug and are now correct. Meaning is this: We purposely set the rate so low as to make very hard to get anything good. For those who got something good before...forget it...you were lucky you got us!

I agree that drop rates have been severly decreased, but i seem to get about 1 script a day and some speakers. Of course nothing compared to before when i could get anywhere between 10-15 items per day..

    This is Age 1 btw

Ok I know I'm rocking the boat here, but I'm quite happy with the drop rate of most items, OK they're not great, but they are at a rate where you can play the game for free as the game is advertised, But enough to encourage people to pay. The prices if you do pay seem a little outrageous to me, some things have an almost sensible price, other things you'd need a nice win on the lottery to buy any decent amount. Although I like the idea that you cant just spend a few dollars and have a huge advantage over free players, There is some imbalance in shop items that needs looking at.

The only real annoyance I have with drop rates is the rarity of rose & honor medals, it took me many thousands of valley attacks to complete my rose, then to find out that honor medal drop rates have dropped massively, I don't know if this is intentional or been imbalanced by the almost continuous amount of gems, but honor which used to be as easy as most of the other medals after rose, are now just as difficult as rose. The other medals, I have enough for several rank/title rises if/when I ever get the rest of the honor medals needed.

Surely this should be reversed? Make high level medals rare, and rose/honor & other low rank medals more common, surely you want people to get into the game and build 3 or 4 cities, maybe spend a little money, then have the difficult task of the high level medals, rather than making it extreme hard work to get past your 2nd or 3rd city and putting people off in their first week, then once u get past those being able to fly thru the next ranks.
