Thread: Drop rates in age II

    Ever since Evony started there has been arguments, pleadings, beggings, logical analysis and on and on about drop rates in context with more valuable pieces. I subscribe to the thought that a company would rather have 100 customers spending 30 dollars to and have 25% profit rather then 25 customers spending 30 dollars and getting 50% profit.

    The basic argument from evony is this, (Gathered from Dawnseeker) That they need to make money in order to keep this game alive. And that is a very fair point. However, once again I would posit that if the Developers and Owners of the game took a look at the game, and realized that people would be much more williing to part with money because they wanted to; not because they HAD to spend to even have a remote chance to enjoy the server a month from now, even a week.

    I chose to spend money on AgeII, I kind of regret it. I know feel that I HAVE to spend the money to even have a chance for Hero Items(Not to mention the disadvantage of having to get ubber lucky for a historical hero) In order to not be colonized.
    When people HAVE to spend money on a game instead of WANT to spend money, that is when things get bad.

    There are solutions to this, I just wish that the Powers that be in Evony take a small look at the game itself. They made the decision not to allow advertising(Which I for one would accept if it meant a bit more boost to their balance sheet) and so us, And I mean US buying coins keeps them afloat.

    This is not a Sophist statement, nor double meaning. It is an honest response to a massive problem; I hope it can be considered a bit more thoughtfully.

    Well.. thats what the main problem.. people have to spend money in order to keep up... its rather annoying... forcing people to spend money as to wanting to spend it...

    Thank you. Today I got my first item drop in 3 weeks or something. An armour script.

    I totally agree with WARMONGER, the KEY item to increase drops on should be teleporters or this game will become too boring. If you are a good player you will buy advanced teleporters to attack or wage war. The nomral teleporters just makes this game playable, and if you're really really lucky you'll at lesat end up close enough to be able to do some attacks. As it is I buy advanced teleporters and will probably continue to if I continue to play the game. But having my cities fixed in one location for months is just becoming so boring that eventually I might feel it's not worth my time to play.

    Point: Normal teleporters should drop at a much higher rate or make them giftable on fb. A reasonable drop rate would be at lest 1/week.

    Edit: another way would be to do something similar to the 1/day ammy but instead 1/week teleporter.
    Edit2: im full of ideas atm , another thing would be a weekly quest that you have to complete to get stuff like the teleporters or something (cost of coding etc though), but this would also give the ones who are done with all of the quests something to do each week.

    Not gonna happen.. only way to do it is if theres a mass exodus of people who quit. only way they will get the message. They are too concerned with $$$$$ and not player enjoyablity. AGE II can be ruined by a few high spenders. With a lot of time on their hands. Well... they get all the good heros.. and gear and you cant do a damn thing about it. Good job. So yeah this game is so unbalanced not even funny. Unless you spend 200+ dollars. Which i refuse to do.

    You guys are doing a great job. It's true, I don't pay money for this game, but I know you run a business, and the fact that OTHERS pay money allows me to play a quality game, for free. You MUST do the things that make you money, otherwise I won't have a good game to play.

    With that in mind, I'd like to point out to you, that I have been in an alliance with people who have claimed to never spend money, yet I received multiple Free Evony New Year's Chest from that same person in the past! People's claims, and what they actually spend, are sometimes different.

    Also, your statement that some players have "Succeeded Brilliantly" is very vague. It's all relative and opinion-based. Some examples:

    --Can you take a Historic 12 without spending very much money on the game? Yes, I've done it. I've gotten emails from people who think I have succeeded brilliantly at the game.

    --Can you get past hero gear level 2 or 3 without spending very much money on the game? Not anymore. The drop rates are just not there. I was lucky enough to get on an age2 server before you guys changed the drop rates, so I am at hero gear level 5. If I solely rely on amulet spins for hero materials, I will reach level 6 hero gear in about 10 more months. If I get lucky and win 1000 cents on the wheel, that number will decrease by a couple months. I really don't feel I have succeeded brilliantly, when my competition on the server has hero gear 8 and 9 (they spend money, or got in even earlier than me).

    What is the solution? I don't know. It seems to me that if I send out attacks for 4-5 hours per day playing your game, I deserve something for my efforts. I am currently winning nothing in my battles. I used to win a lot of stuff. There has to be some reasonable middle ground. Otherwise, all your free players are going to quit, and then the paying players will have no one left to fight

    yep i got to lvl 4/5 hero gear too before they decided to stop dropping items in game anymore.

    i do however, maxed my stars for those level gears full 10/11 star set. and one piece at 12 stars or 13 i forget. and now all the gems i get from my tons of attacks accumulate and rot, bc I am maxed stars and i will nvr be able to get hero gears leveled. not only that but thousands of medals that do NOTHING.

    then of course thats not even ranting about the HH and being unable to cap them from other players... in age1 with time and grind you can succeed in age2 u can buy HH and not worry about a thing. too imbalanced.

    find a middle ground on drops, heroes already. this is effn ridiculous. you need to be able somehow to get drops, and to have chance at capping HH from another player.

    Well I have come to my end too I think. Since the fixed bug, outside of medals and gems I have gotten 1 speech text, 1 mike's script and 1 hero hunting. I have maxed out my hero and have come to an impass. I can no longer advance in the game with out spending money. Since there are no material drops, I am stuck with lvl 2 gear. My gear and best hero can not attack a lvl 10. I get wiped out every time. So now I am really questioning why I am continuing to play. The game is no longer fun.
