    Default On-Topic forum section topics

Several people have expressed the desire to have some say in the topics open to discussion in our moderated forum section. I'm willing to entertain that idea. If you have something you think really deserves a thread in the On-Topic forum section, please post it here. I cannot promise I'll post all or even any of them, but I will definitely consider them.

I should note that this is not a discussion thread. It is simply a place to post ideas for discussion topics. In keeping with the spirit of the On-Topic forum, any posts that are off-topic or disrespectful of others will be deleted summarily.

Apparently I have not been clear.

I am asking all of you what new topics you would like to see in the On-Topic forum section. You may suggest thread topics here. Nothing more, please.

Ooh, ooh. I have a few. Although to be honest I did just force myself to come up with a load of things. You wouldn't believe what I didn't include in this.

1.) People have said they rather liked the age 2 graphics. How about consideration of changing the age 1 graphics too? Or even giving the option of having different skins within the game?

2.) Change the way alliances are formed, maintained, and run. Alot of people complain it is hard to track the alliance with so few options as a host. Also customisable roles and permissions for each member. Also restrictions or an alternative that will stop the war spam.

3.) A way of promoting members to participate by way of holding some form of event? It may give a chance to get more conclusive feedback on things than just the few who use the forum.

TCWNME is right there could be many ways on tracking an alliance and how to find it that can be improved. I will add to the alliance topic by saying maybe increase limit per alliance

and/or adding more positions such as a war/attack tracker, transport controller, etc. There could be many different titles these are just a few I though of off the top of my head.

    Here are a couple thoughts.

    How to protect the beginner?

What game designs seem out of balance? How do you fix them?

Reasons why a high medal drop rate is better for Evony

How to improve the way alliances run and promote teamwork?

How to maintain interest in the game?

    Colonization: What works, what doesn't?

OK let me try a third time.

Proposed changes allowing an ageII form of attacks NOT already proposed by you.

Proposed balancing tools to make the game more enjoyable and competitive.

Proposed A simplified form of giant map that wont lag the server. Surely someone can come up with a way to see more than your tiny square without lagging everything down like a zoom would.

Proposed protected capitals in one form or another. edited: oops that probably would fit in any number of other threads and topics. sorry :P

    I would suggest the following:

    1. A thread regarding overhauling the way new players learn the game, including everything from extending BP to 2 weeks (especially for Age 1) to boosting their resource production during BP so they can build steadily (or boosting the quest rewards), to a much more thorough tutorial that really explains how things work so they don't end up becoming someone's farm/vassal the second their BP ends.

    2. A thread for suggestions on improving game mechanics in both versions of the game, including removing things that don't work (ie: commission quests) or have no real use (ie - privateering in Age 2), and replacing them with more useful features.

    3. A thread discussing ways to make Age 1 more interesting so that players want to remain on a server once the initial wars are over and things quiet down.

    4. A thread regarding ways to protect new players on an existing server from the "bullies", such as setting a limit on attacking players with less than half your prestige (unless they attack you first). This would make all battles more fair, and protect the new players from getting farmed, discouraged and driven away from the game by someone with 8 cities and 16 million troops.

Ok, those are just a few ideas. I'll post again if I think of any more.
