The purpose of Evony, or lack of...
I started playing Evony again. I left after the first nerf on NPC's back when it first came out. Now im thinking about doing the same again after the new NPC flat changes.
A challenging game must have risk and a reward for taking that risk.
Right now there is pretty much only one goal in the game, which is to conquer Atlantis. In order to do this, one presumes that you must slowly move up the scale of cities from a 10, to a 12, to a 14, etc making this a purely PvE game.
Which brings my next point, Evony is now SimCity, and the reasons why are:
1. It is impossible to conquer a player city (no PvP)
2. The goal would seem to be to conquer NPC cities (only PvE)
3. If you are being conquered, you can close your gates and
3. Once an NPC city is conquered, it cannot be taken by another player, only colonized (No Risk)
4. In order to conquer an NPC city, a truly massive amount of armies is needed (Almost impossible to maintain)
5. The only way to build and maintain a massive army is to farm NPC's, or have dedicated food cities.
How are we meant to play this game ? It seems to be make buildings, dont wage war and farm prestige...
