1) Drop rates are different for Age I servers once you get past a certain server number. You cannot use the same strategies for server Age I server 3 on Age I server 129.
2) Drop rates for medals on Age II servers are closer to the drop rate for medals on Age I server 3. You cannot use the same strategies for Age II server na5 as you do for Age I server 129.
3) Failure to understand items 1 and 2 lead to posts where people give well-intentioned "helpful advice" that won't work for the person the advice is being given to if the person giving the advice is using a non-compatible strategy.
4) Failure to understand items 1 and 2 lead to posts where people scoff at others for not being as smart as they are. They then may post what they "easily" do on their server which won't work for the person the "advice" is being given to because the person being given the "advice" is on a different server with a different strategy, thus the "advice" is not compatible.
5) Various people think that people who complain about the inability to find medals are just wanting things to be ultra-easy, without stopping to consider that some of the people state they have been attacking in the way described as being the compatible strategy for their server for weeks on end, perhaps even months, and are having major difficulty.
6) The change to where medals only drop from high leveled valleys creates the choke point experienced by people complaining in item 5 about being frustrated because of weeks of attacks not being very fruitful. There is too much competition for high leveled valleys due to them being used for resource production, thus many high leveled valleys are occupied, and medals do not drop for PvP valley attacks, either at all, or only extremely rarely, because typically an "occupied" valley doesn't have any troops defending due to the food consumption penalty to defend it.
7) Due to the occupation of valleys that are close to the player who is needing medals, the player is then forced to go longer distances. As players have to go longer distances, this means their heroes and troops are out longer, exposing them to greater risk of attack. This risk becomes greater the closer the player is to a neutral or a hostile that appears to be / is stronger than the player looking for medals.
8) Players that have not been able to find medals in a timely fashion are more likely to have only 1 or 2 cities. As such, they have a limited number of heroes to hunt for medals with, and a limited number of barracks to produce troops.
9) If the player with only 1 or 2 cities is attacked, and loses either their wall or most of their troops, it can take weeks to be able to recover, as an alliance can reinforce, but the player cannot use the troops that were sent for reinforcement. Also, only the player can deal with the wall damage. The alliance can help by sending resources, but that's all they can do.
10) The continual wearing down of players who are still needing medals, particularly rose medals, months after the server has been open, tends to make people quit, referring to the people that attacked them as "bullies" (somewhat rightfully so), and then being mocked as doing a "ragequit".
In other words, so many aspects of the lowered drop rates simply set up people to fail. This doesn't help customer satisfaction / customer retention. When players who have experienced these problems come to the forum and get mocked, even after explaining how much time and effort they have put in, then that reinforces the "set up to fail" mentality...and the customer will likely walk away and speak negatively about the company and their experiences.
