The post is properly formatted, it is just lengthy. Certain things cannot be condensed into a few words to appeal to those with short attention spans.

    1) Drop rates are different for Age I servers once you get past a certain server number. You cannot use the same strategies for server Age I server 3 on Age I server 129.

    2) Drop rates for medals on Age II servers are closer to the drop rate for medals on Age I server 3. You cannot use the same strategies for Age II server na5 as you do for Age I server 129.

    3) Failure to understand items 1 and 2 lead to posts where people give well-intentioned "helpful advice" that won't work for the person the advice is being given to if the person giving the advice is using a non-compatible strategy.

    4) Failure to understand items 1 and 2 lead to posts where people scoff at others for not being as smart as they are. They then may post what they "easily" do on their server which won't work for the person the "advice" is being given to because the person being given the "advice" is on a different server with a different strategy, thus the "advice" is not compatible.

    5) Various people think that people who complain about the inability to find medals are just wanting things to be ultra-easy, without stopping to consider that some of the people state they have been attacking in the way described as being the compatible strategy for their server for weeks on end, perhaps even months, and are having major difficulty.

    6) The change to where medals only drop from high leveled valleys creates the choke point experienced by people complaining in item 5 about being frustrated because of weeks of attacks not being very fruitful. There is too much competition for high leveled valleys due to them being used for resource production, thus many high leveled valleys are occupied, and medals do not drop for PvP valley attacks, either at all, or only extremely rarely, because typically an "occupied" valley doesn't have any troops defending due to the food consumption penalty to defend it.

    7) Due to the occupation of valleys that are close to the player who is needing medals, the player is then forced to go longer distances. As players have to go longer distances, this means their heroes and troops are out longer, exposing them to greater risk of attack. This risk becomes greater the closer the player is to a neutral or a hostile that appears to be / is stronger than the player looking for medals.

    8) Players that have not been able to find medals in a timely fashion are more likely to have only 1 or 2 cities. As such, they have a limited number of heroes to hunt for medals with, and a limited number of barracks to produce troops.

    9) If the player with only 1 or 2 cities is attacked, and loses either their wall or most of their troops, it can take weeks to be able to recover, as an alliance can reinforce, but the player cannot use the troops that were sent for reinforcement. Also, only the player can deal with the wall damage. The alliance can help by sending resources, but that's all they can do.

    10) The continual wearing down of players who are still needing medals, particularly rose medals, months after the server has been open, tends to make people quit, referring to the people that attacked them as "bullies" (somewhat rightfully so), and then being mocked as doing a "ragequit".

In other words, so many aspects of the lowered drop rates simply set up people to fail. This doesn't help customer satisfaction / customer retention. When players who have experienced these problems come to the forum and get mocked, even after explaining how much time and effort they have put in, then that reinforces the "set up to fail" mentality...and the customer will likely walk away and speak negatively about the company and their experiences.
These are all good points and I appreciate you voicing them in a constructive manner. This is definitely a real sticking point for a lot of players, and I believe, rightly so.

    You're welcome...

As I continued to explain in posts further on in the thread, the situation described had a lot to do with my own personal experience on server 120.

There has to be some sort of compromise position. Most players are simply not going to put in the amount of time that is required with the drop rates being where they are now. Most players also will not spend the amount of money required, so drawing a line in the sand and saying "these are the drop rates and they're going to stay that way and if you complain about it you're being too demanding" doesn't seem to be the best course of action...

My suggestion would be going back to allowing medal drop locations to be the same as the original design...that we still have on the lower-numbered Age I servers. From there, if you want to decrease the rate that they drop from those locations, that would be a lot better, because at least that doesn't cluster all the competition in one spot. Just make the reduced drop rates reasonable. Also, allow NPCs to drop medals again at a reasonable rate.

FWIW though, I think the drop rates on server N4 are "reasonable". Like I've said, it took me 4 months of significant daily gameplay (8 hours+) to make it to Prinzessin. The more casual player will take longer than that, likely 6-8 months. That seems very reasonable to me. I spent around $300 too, but it all went to things like teleports, excalibers, horns, corselets, penicillin, resource / construction boosts... So, yeah, while Wisdom, Courage, Freedom, Nation, and Justice medals drop like crazy for me now, when I was needing them, they still were a challenge.

Perhaps that's another issue? You've stated that someone monitors the drop rates. Does that monitoring factor in if the medal dropped to someone who was still needing the medal for a promotion or if it dropped to someone who already had passed the level where the type of medal dropped was needed? That's a very important distinction for statistical purposes... If you bundle the stat into one pool instead of drilling down to the finer level of detail, it can mask the issues being felt by the players who are still needing the medals for promotion.

All good points and perhaps evony will take pity on the players and help them out.
Most servers, or batchs of servers are petri dishes for rule refinement to see what balance gives the best result for evony. What is the breaking point between making players spend and abandoning the game. This is one reason that most servers do not have EXACTLY the same rules or rates. I have played on 6 servers and EVERY one proved slightly different, most noticable when you jump forward a lot in server numbers. The drop rates being one of the main features in these changes, but not the only one.

    I hope so...

If nothing else, just make it easier to get Rose, Lion, and Honor medals (requirements for up to Baron / Viscount).

I just picked up a Freedom medal from a level 10 hill. That's nice, I suppose, but I still need 4 Rose medals to make it to Baronet...and who knows how long it will take. Eventually the lack of progress wears you out. Some might pay to get those last 4 medals, but many, if not most, will not, as evidenced by the high number of Knights and lower on server 120.

Evony was special once and not it has been ruined by the game designers greed and hunger for money and incredibly low drop rates that make the game UN-fun.

Many of our alliance members are attacking valleys hundreds upon hundreds of times just to get 1 measly medal. It is near impossible to get enough roses, be it 5 or 6 for Baronet. It averages to around 200 attacks just for 1 medal, and the chances are itll be a lion over a rose. Even with 2% treasure buff, 200 attacks mean you should get 2 medals insted of one. Evony has purely been ruined by the fact that advancing is to hard. You get attacked and it takes a real long time to rebuild archers, wall defences particular since your resource output is limited to 2 citys mostly.

Over 100 people agree that with medal drop rates at 10% was a ton more funner then spending hundreds of attacks, hours of time for 1 simple medal. True the fact is you advance faster with higher droprates but it also means more time online and a funner experience. mainly leading to buying cents. Now they just want you to spend money for a advancement.

Honestly Evony, you've let the game go. Its hardly fun anymore, from when it use to be.

Well it seems that the newest server, NA 17, Which is the one I was inferring to in my original post, is notorius already for its lack of drops.

NA 16, the one I was originally playing on isnt nearly as horrible, but isnt dropping the predicted 20 or 30% medal rate either. I have gotten sevral lions and a few of the thrd tier ones but even after another 200 or so attacks only a single rose, which at this stage is what I need.

As for make up of army, I go 50 archers for level 1, 75 archers for level 2, 150 for level 3, and 375/400 for level 4. Yeah I know level 4 supposedly wont drop rose medals, but since that is what spawned only a mile from me I did it because it was less than a 3 minute round trip.

Regardless it seems incredibely random in nature. I just wanted to know how guys who 3 or 4 hours after the server had aleady ranked up 4 times, and a couple had made max level as early as yesterday. I had probably answered my own question when I figured they spent more than a little bit of money and were simply farming the item shop and those medal chests.
