Just to be clear here...
Henry IV has ATT 99 INT 95 LEAD 138
Vasco Nu?ez: ATT 99 INT 94 LEAD 139
Depending on what you think is better, 1 point leadership or intelligence, one of these 2 is the best attack hero so far discovered in Age II.

Oh well thanks to the other thread I finally grabbed 2 decent HH to lead my armies...( Juju has like the top 15 best hh on server lol).
1 - Canute the Great | 72POL 90ATK 86INT 128LEADERSHIP
2 - Edward IV of England | 70POL 91ATK 80INT 126LEADERSHIP
No formula used, based on my experience with the importance of attack/intel/leadership.
I probably missed 1 or 2 heroes who should share a 11th or 16th place.
Edit: Saladin is 98 attack. This puts him at shared 3rd place with Aretes III

I found a historic hero that is not listed:
after striping with holy water and not yet adding back the 30 stripped attribute points.
politics: 25
attack: 83
intelligence: 77
leadership: 145
attribute: 30
so that would make attack base 83+30=113 with no equipment
I saved a pic to my computer of the info

You forgot to give the name MzPretzel... and I assume it's 115 base leadership.
Is there any guide on how to catch historic heroes? I would be gratful if someone answers.
Thanks, AndreasCY (na15)
Here is one :
Step 1: Find a historical hero you like ( through folks hearsay or surfing the these forums for names of good heroes).
Step 2 : Search the hero through statistics to make sure no other player has already captured him
Step 3 : Search the hero in the Inn ( cost 1k gold)
Step 4 : If he is in a barbarian city, enquire details to get the hero location..
From then on, cheap easy way to capture :
Have 1 free city slot
- Locate the closest lvl 1-3 flat from the NPC city holding the hero ( you got the coords from enquire details)
- attack said flat with a hero and 3k scouts.( have free valley slot)
- One the flat is captured, build city on said flat (build can take up to 20h if it's 380 miles away but no worry, build city will auto complete at server reset).
- next day, send resources to your new city with scouts or horses.
- send a mayor with decent pol to speed up construction
- Start building up your new city, build the following :
TH 2, Inn, feasting hall
Once resources arrive build following in this order :
- Academy lvl 5
- iron mine 3, Forge 2, Workshop 4
- Feasting hall 5
- rally spot 5-6 ( more if the hero is in lvl 10 npc of course)
- Farm 5, stable 1, relief station 3-4.
Once you're down to leveling relief station reinforce new city with 4 heroes and archers/warriors ( 40k archers, 80k warriors is enough except if npc 10) , make them carry as much food as possible.
Send your mayor back to one of your others cities.
Once mayor arrived you should have 4 heroes + 1 free spot in Inn.
Attack npc holding hero.
First wave : archers + 10k wars
next waves 10k wars, spread every 20-30 seconds depending how far from npc you are.
In 99% of the case you will see the Historical heroe you are trying to capture defending the keep in battle report, if that is the case, keep attacking and you will capture him eventually.
if you do not see him but see a high level regular hero, do not panic, double check statistics to make sure noone captured your hero over night and if you don't see him he is there, just not defending, keep attacking you will still capture him ( happened to me once, i actually capured the HH while he was not even the guy listed on battle reports).
Once hero captured, persuade him, equip gear and send everyone back to original city ( depending on relief station level and distance it can take upwards of 6 hours).
Once everyone back home, abandon city.
Whole process takes 24 hours from time you capture flat to time you capture HH...( alternative is use adv teleport but it gets expensive fast, my way is cheap)
Thanks for the guide, it was very helpful, but is there a way of efficiently searching for a historic hero without paying 10 game cents?
Also, you don't need 250 workers with the 3k scouts and the hero, to build a city into the flat?

The scouts conquer the flat.
The workers will be needed in the home city when you click build city on the new flat ( you don't send them, build city automatically does that).
You will have to pay 10 cents in the end to enquire details and get the hero portrait.
However only do that once you are convinced noone else hasn't already captured the hero ( that's why you search statistics and such).
PS : You need to be baronnet to persuade a historical hero, so no point doing any of this before you reach that rank..
