Capitals can send 250k waves? Nice. But that is also bad for anyone trying to defend 0,0.

True but you will need a very very high leadership hero for a 250k wave to be effective, and bare in mind the distance needed to travel would give the player a LOT of time to prepare

but ofc i also have ideas on how to bring something like that down, but thats for another thread

I would simply buy a ton of strategms beseige enemy's fort to rescue all.

Then I would try to break up coordinated multiple attacks so they fail. once they seem to be breaking through I would be quick with the truce button.

Meanwhile players that attacked me at Atlantis would be high on the list for counter attacks from my alliance.

Hopefully pounding their heads at my walls would reduce their forces enough that they could be beaten at their sending villages.

    Actual numbers needed? Who knows?

No matter how tough you are, surely a group will find out and build a bigger coalition to attack? Which will force you to build more yourself...and so on and so forth.

Hm, strategems... good idea. But I don't know how to use them very effectively yet. But you bring up a good point. If someone just buys a bunch of strategems, that will really put a damper on any attacks to 0,0.

Your counter attacks won't "harm" any players if they are smart. In fact, if everyone who attacked you did it from cities already colonized by your alliance... hmmmm..... And playing Age II from a colonized position is something players are getting very very good at, myself included. And while colonized you can still attack NPC's and historicals.

That's why you have auxiliary alliances that you can move attackers to for counter-attacks if that's the case. A city having been colonized might not matter at that point.
But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

Ok, let's say the defender of 0,0 counter attacks by using Joe Bob from some unknown alliance which is a sister/aux alliance to the one that took 0,0....

Well, if the players you want to counter attack are already colonized, then your counter attack will actually hurt their Suzerain. And if they are not colonized, a counter attack won't do so much. All it will do is wipe defenses of the city if gates are closed. And the way I play Age II, my cities are all colonized. So I can hit historicals all day owned by others and if they want to get back at me, they wind up hitting my Suze, lol
At first I did not like being colonized. But I have grown to love it. It really adds alot more complexity when you play from a colonized position. And I can still build troops and not worry about drafting, etc..
So yeah, if you play from a colonized city or cities, it won't matter, lol.
You should read my guide. I explained how I play:
