The quote is "Et tu, Brute?" which is to Brutus, but as I recall it, Brutus was only a close friend of Caesar, Caesar's adopted son being Octavious, who became his successor and the first Emperor of Rome when he defeated Marc Antony and the Egyptian navy. But I may be mistaken.

    You're correct about the quote.

Pretty sure I'm correct about the adopted son bit too, but maybe not about Brutus' relation to Caesar.

Yeah, it was Octavian I forgot. And yes I know it is Et tu, Brutus, but I translated it to english.

Caeser adopted his son (I think because he was sterile... idk). I want to believe that Brutus and Caeser, in the play at least, were close friends (not sure irl).

The quote doesn't need translation. I don't know hardly any french at all, and I know what it means, lol.

Caesar's wife was barren. Octavious was actually his Nephew, but he was orphaned or some such thing so Caesar took him in. Some accounts state that Caesar got a child by Cleopatra.
