Agreed! Both things are basic grade school math! (although fully understanding and working with series doesn't come until calculus)
100% faster with 10% increment "stacking" (as you put it) = 34.8711% (technically called a geometric series)
100% faster without 10% "stacking" bonus = 50%
So as I mentioned in my first post Evony is quite generous!
But the OP has known the real mechanic for this all along. He simply wanted in math terms what 100% faster would be alone, because he lost an arguement with his buddy and refuses to admit it. Ironically the whole arguement is flawed because Evony never says "faster" in the first place. Evony states "every single upgrade enhances construction speed of buildings and fortified units by 10%". We simply say 10% faster as a common way of saying basically the same thing. But clearly the 10% bonus is on training speed and not training time.
Here is where the OP makes his mistake. He equates speed and time as proportional when they are not proportional. They are inversely proportional.
IE 1:1, 2:1/2, 3:1/3, 4:1/4, 5:1/5...........(This is called a ratio sequence)
speed:time
When you convert this ratio into % the obvious relationship is harder to see and he hasn't seen it yet.
PS For more advanced people out there. A series is a sequence that has the terms added together. This is why the way Evony calculates buildtime w/bonuses gives us a greater than 50% reduction in build time after 10 levels. You add the bonuses...so 10% additional bonus applies not only to the base build speed but also the previous bonus. This also can be confusing so if you are not there yet, dont try.
