Default what would "100% faster" be?

Theres a "construction skill" which apparently saves you 10% construction time, per level. This struck me as odd, and after some preliminary math I got even more confused. FIRST and FOREMOST, lets stick to MATH answers, ok? I got in a fight with some retard who kept insisting the job would take half as long. I agree that if you work "twice as fast" the job would take "half as long"... but I dont agree that 100% faster is "twice as fast"... to me, it seems that 50% faster is twice as fast....

a 10 minute job takes 10 minutes and is 100% of the time needed to do the job
10% faster is 9 minutes for the job, 90% of a 10 minute job
50% faster is 5 minutes for the job, 50% of a 10 minute job
90% faster is 1 minute for the job, 90% of a 10 minute job

in other words, 50% faster is "twice the speed and half the time" BUT terms like twice and half REALLY don't belong in this discussion. SO...

sticking to math.... what would 100% faster be?

Rasterbee gets some props for demonstrating what the actual function of the "Construction" skill is, but I had already figured out that that was how it was "applied"... incrementally, by tens... but that doestn answer the QUESTION this brought up.....

would 100% faster be "instant"? as andrewbeeker points out, what happens to 100+percents?

Redbaron -- Very clever, BUT you have failed to show that ANYTHING gets accomplished "faster".... the issue is "faster"... my question was about "faster".... to put it bluntly, 9 women cant have a baby in one month. In all your equations the amount of time spent remains a CONSTANT and you have increased VOLUME or OUTPUT... you are (incorrectly) proposing that "Twice as many equals half the time"... I still contend that 100% increase in SPEED (not units produced) would mean "instantaneous".
