This happens often and to everybody.
Holding something in your hand, then wondering where that thing is... I once searched for the TV remote for about an hour, and it was in my hand the whole time.

Basically when I look for something and it's in my hand or right next to me.


also when I put my tv remote on the floor in my room then subsequently get up and trip on it

*TO BE FAIR I HAD A LOT ON MY MIND DURING THE TIME OF THIS STORY*

I was once looking for my coat and keys as me and my friend were going to leave one day. I kept leaving, then stopping and walking back in. Searching around for a second or two, forgetting what I was searching for and leaving, stopping and returning. Rinse lather repeat. TWICE. My friend decided to be kind to me after the fourth time and ask "What are you DOING?" I did a dual facepalm right there on the spot and had to sit down just to be able to swallow my pride hard enough to explain.

I once connected the hot and neutral on the same side of a receptacle (tab was not removed). I really don't know what I was thinking. I turned the power on, heard the POOF, saw the sparks, smoke, and burnt marks, then immediately face palmed.
