people here use skype and stuffs because either

a. people are too far away to see each other in rl unless they make a trip out of it

b. people dont want to meet the other in rl (skirata)

now as far as rl goes, its sometimes better to send certain things over a computer screen and people feel more secure.

im just guessing thats why. and also you cant use awesomesauce emoticons in a real life convo
