I slightly take offense to that even though you're pretty much 100% correct in stereotyping American's disinterest in the rest of the world.

I live in America....however I haven't turned my TV on since the series finale of LOST. And in the past few years my TV has only been on about an hour a week...again, tuned in to LOST.

I hadn't run across that song/singer on the interwebz since the beginning of the World Cup, but I wasn't really been looking either.
